It has been less than three months and my scars...
It has been less than three months and my scars are barely there. I am a caucasian woman with fairly sensitive skin. I started using Embrace exactly four weeks after my surgery, once the wounds healed enough and my doctor gave me the go ahead.
The concern for me was if my skin would react to having the sheets on for 10-12 days at a time (I am allergic to latex and most adhesives/glues). Embrace had such good reviews, I decided to ask my doctor's opinion and she gave thumbs up so in the name of less scaring, I gave it a go. THANK GOD I did...as soon as I had them on for the first time, I felt oddly protected and more secure with myself. The silicon is so smooth and the strips keep the scars firmly together and smooth so they never raise up and create scar tissue....WOW! The best part was after I took them off and my skin had no reaction, PHEW! When you remove the strips - about 24-48 hours before you reapply, do it in a hot bath or sudsy shower and take your time. Be tender with your body and well, talk to your scars and thank them for working with the silicon sheets to heal the very best that they can. Do not rip the sheets off dry and it will not hurt at all.
I was committed and just finished my 8th week with Embrace. My scars are barely there and I feel so happy and pretty and confident! Thank you to the creators of Embrace and while I am baring it all, I would be remiss not to mention the coolest Embrace rep that was super supportive throughout this entire process...the team at Embrace actually love helping people.
