WORTH IT
I had my buccal fat removed (along with various other surgeries from doctor Lee. My pain threshold is very low. MY FIRST time not going under anesthesia and doing local numbing of the areas that are going to be performed. The buccal fat was very painful for me (made me cry a bit haha.. that's how bad my pain tolerance is... and the Dr. Lee put even more numbing for me and it was still painful). Due to my low pain tolerance Dr. Lee did not want to proceed much longer since patience comfort is her utmost priority. She was able to take out my buccal fat but it was "not as much as other patient". However after 1.5-2 months later after my swelling has gone down (my swelling was constant over the summer since I had many MANY surgeries such as BBL, revision eyelid, nose job, buccal fat, and submental lipo). I am starting to notice the slimming of the face. It is very subtle but it does look MUCH better than my before =D I was little sad that she could not take out more of my buccal fat but now I am relieved that she took out very little and Syringes scares the heck outta of me. The reason I am relieved not much was taken out was because after researching about the buccal fat... as the person age over time, we lose fat/fat pads around the face. I do not want hollow /gauche look when I am age 40, 50, 60 lol I still want to look beautiful haha xD. So I am glad it was taken out a little and I can still notice the subtle difference. It looks natural and it does not look like I had a surgery at all. I have to admit I was bit of a difficult patient since even putting the numbing syringe hurts me and made me almost cry. Dr. Lee was very patient with me and cared about my comfort. She asked me if I wanted to proceed but if I was in too much pain she can stop (even after extra numbing ugh I am such a sissy). Funny thing was my left side hurt less than my right side cheek when she was removing my buccal fat and she had to take out even amount of fat from each side for symmetry and I could not take any more pain on my right side so we had to stop. Dr. Lee is very artistic and is good at making the procedure outcome to have a result and look natural! I think the natural looking is very important since I go to school and I do not want my friends to see the drastic changes in my face in course of 3 months on my summer break.

Overall, I am happy that it looks subtle and natural. I am also happy because as I age I will also lose fat around my face (even my fat pads) so....... I think it was even better outcome than I had hoped for =)

In addition, (I think i mentioned in the other review).... her office is very organized, clean, and have the most friendly staff (Elizabeth and michael). They are very helpful and very friendly! I have been to other doctors offices for pre-ops before and due to unfriendly-ish staff, it always deterred me from going with the procedure. Please if you want to have natural look and still be aesthetically enhanced go to Dr. Lee! She is the best!

P.S. I am currently recovering from revision nose job and septoplasty. Will write a review about it after I recover in 3-4 weeks.

Does the buccal procedure require stitches at all?
