WORTH IT
I am so blessed to have found such a great doctor. He did an incredible job. I am breast cancer survivor and recently the implant that was placed inside me back in 2009 just did not look right and I was not happy with it. Dr. Alex Kim removed the implant and did a tram flap reconstruction. I love the way it all came out and I love his work. His staff are beautiful people who understand what you are going through and they support you through it all. I would highly recommend Dr. Alex Kim.
I am one happy patient.

did you have both sides done or just one? if it was just one did he use both sides of your stomach or did you have to have an implant again? do you have any stomach weakness? why did you chose that over a diep flap? do you have a skin paddle showing or were you able to keep your nipple on the first surgery..will you have to do a revision surgery? was your implant contracted that it was looking funny?? glad u are so pleased with the outcome

I just had one done. I believe one side was used and the excess was removed giving me a flat tummy. Over time my stomach will regain strength and exercise is definitely something I am going to continue once I am better. I kept the original skin used in my first reconstruction including the nipple. I am completely done with surgeries on my breast and it feels great. Yes the implant just did not look or feel right. Best of luck.

Can you tell me a bit more about your first reconstruction? Why didn't it look or feel right? Had you had radiation therapy? I have 3 different consults that have given me 3 different options for reconstruction. The least invasive one involves implants and no flap. Another wants to do fat grafting which complicates further screening and detection and the third wants to take a muscle from my back. All I have have is deformity, asymmetry and of course I have had radiation therapy.

So happy for you. I have just had a diep flap and it helps to have a fabulous doctor and a wonderful staff. We didn't sign up for this club but we are in it. Secret handshakes and all. Congrats
