Excited and nervous! Booked my surgery for BBL with Dr. Hazani for March 8th, 2016! Looking forward to meeting others in this journey as it seems it can be both stressful and life changing! I have a million questions that I'm sure everyone else experiences as well! I'll be flying from Hawaii so those who have experiences with flying or tips to share would be greatly appreciated!

Good luck! You're in great hands. Dr Hazani is a great dr. As for flying, Dr. Hazani will give you a pillow and it does help.

Thanks! Is the pillow he gives the boppy type or the acutal bbl pillow? I was going to purchase the bbl one as it looks like it keeps your butt from touching more?! Did you fly too?

It's the bbl pillow. He's done extensive research on the pillow and highly recommends it.

And if you haven't bought one, but a memory foam pillow, it will help sleep at night.

Lymphatic massages/ manual lymphatic massages

islndgirl808
Has anyone who already had their surgery or scheduled theirs also schedule any massages or manual lymphatic massages to help with draining of fluid and scar tissue build up? I've seen some videos of how much fluid comes out a few days post operatively during one of these sessions and since I have a 6 hr flight I'd much rather have it done prior to me flying home! Trying to see if I should schedule that ahead of time as well or if anyone knew of some one experienced and knowledgable! Thanks!

Do you really need someone to help you?

islndgirl808
I wanted to know if you really need someone the first couple of nights? I have a friend I could stay with in N. Hollywood but would prefer to stay by myself in a hotel if I don't really need some one! Did any one else take care of theirself post operatively? I know Dr. Hazani said he prefers some one to be there the first 24 hours so you don't fall. I also have close friends in San Diego just don't know if I want to do that drive back and forth!

I'm traveling myself, but I'm getting a caregiver for the first night. Dr. said she charges $20 hour. She stays as long as you need her. A few hours or all night.

You definitely need someone for a day or two. And you'll need transportation, which can usually be provided by a caregiver. Many are weak and faint after, luckily I was not but I didn't know until after it was over. Please don't try to do this alone...
