I've decided to share my journey with plastic surgery as many others before have done. I've come to find the reviews and the diaries of each individual not only comforting but very informative. Hopefully my posts will give more insight and comfort to those who have decided or are contemplating this procedure.
My journey started out with first wanting to change my body since I was really unsatisfied. I did everything the correct way. I went to the gym and lifted weights and cut out the sugars and processed food. My body was changing but not to the extent I wanted. I became toned and well sculptured but I wanted a curvaceous figure; a bodycon dress body. I really really like the natural shape of my body but I just want it enhanced to the max. I am not seeking a J Lo body since I would look absolutely ghastly. I want to look banging and absolutely natural. I stumbled across the BBL and started doing research. Discovering realself has not only given me a resource but a family where goals are the same. We all want to be confident and look our best, haha. Between all the reviews I've read and the before and after photos, I decided on Dr.Dennis Dass. It seems like his work will reflect what I want most; a sculpted body with fantastic proportions and minimal irregularities. Given that I am from out of state and will be flying in for the procedure, it made me really nervous. I am from Canada and the surgeons here (although good) don't seem to have the same vision as me. I consulted a few and they all want me to either gain weight or negate the surgery because I simply don't have enough fat. I'm around 5 4'/5' and 160 ish. Dr.Dass did not require me to gain any weight (thank god) and he was extremely confident that my results would not only great but I will heal fast. I had completed a health questionnaire and stated that I have never had any surgery or any complications. Due to the fact that he was so confident, I felt more than comfortable with choosing him as my doctor. I have already paid for my procedure and my surgery date is on the 27th of June at 7am. I am flying in the day before on the 26th to have the pre-op. I'm staying in an airbnb that is within walking distance from his office and the Cedars Sinai Medical Center. I have gotten some supplies for my stay but I sometimes wonder if I've gotten enough. I will post a list of what I have later. I will be staying in LA from the 26th of June to the 2nd of July. I have school starting on the 3rd and work as well. Wish me luck! Question for those who have travelled out of state in for surgery, when you ubered/lyfted post surgery, how was it? How did you manage? Was it awkward with the uber? lol. How in the world do I tell the uber driver? Haha. Oh yes. If anyone is flying from Canada to the states for this procedure and have any questions. Please oh please ask me. If I can help, I definitely would! I can't wait to be bootified haha. Much love till the next post.

Flew in today + Pre-op
Lena588June 27, 2017
I flew into LA today. Landed around 11:20 and preceeded to head to my airbnb. Holy moly, LA has ridiculously more people than anticipated. The traffic is crazy. Now I had my pre-op at 4 so I had a bit of time. I wondered and window shopped and got a bunch of groceries. I don't want to cook at all so meal prep is the thing, that and I want to make sure I am eating properly. I got a lot of veggies and fruits and yogurt. I then headed 'home' to prep EVERYTHING. Hopefully this helps my process.
Now regarding the pre-op, I was greeted by Jessica and Megan. Megan is pretty cool, very nice and patient. She took many many many photos of me since I am having quite a few areas lipo-ed, When I saw Dr.Dass, he explained where the incisions would be exactly and 'half+' of the fat would be gone. He said he doesn't want to extreme but will do his best. One of my hips is slightly higher and because of that, he said things will NOT be perfect but still beautiful. He asked me if I wanted a little bit transferred or a lot, I asked for a result that would be worth going through all the pain and discomfort. I told him to make it worth it. He took note of that and said I will do just great and he expects a wonderful result. Megan told me that he does around 10-12 BBL a WEEK so that calmed me down significantly. Megan also took my measurements for my garment and went through all the instructions with me. She also gave me the DASS bag. This included: Bactrim, Phenergan, MiraLAx, Arnica gel (75 g) and Arnica Pellets. This is to ensure an optimal recovery. For anyone flying in, if you are staying for a week or so, you don't have to bring extra Arnica gel unless you SLATHER the thing on. Megan says 'thin layer because you want it to dry and not to overuse'. Dr.Dass perscribed percocet for pain and told me to get it at the pharmacy across the street. It costs around 50 USD and the Pharmacists reccommends taking 1/2 a pill at a time vs 1-2 because he says that it can be quite addictive and to be careful cause people have become addicted. After that whole deal, I went back 'home' and prepared everything; drank 2 litres of water (whole day not at once), stripped the bed and covered it with 2 table cloths and a shower liner, got chux pads and prepared towels and bandaids. All I am bringing with me is the meds and 3 chux ,a dark dark towel and a banana for after the surgery. I don't know about the ride back. The lyft/uber driver ..this will be an interesting situation. I think I am more nervous for the drive back to the airbnb than the operation, haha. My surgery is at 7 tomorrow. Wish me luck! Oh and any questions, feel free to ask. Inbox me if you need to, I got a ton last time and am still going through them.

I am alive! Thank goodness. After I woke up, the nurse quickly wheeled me out and I was lucid enough to call a lyft. Since my airbnb was 0.4 miles away, it made things SO much easier. I honestly thought I would be in a lot more pain. I was more in discomfort than anything else. I followed the instructions to the T. I found walking and stretching your legs while laying down helps A LOT. Oh yes, PEZ is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL. Legit, best $5 you will spend haha. For people who are wondering, I used about 9 chux pads. 2 was given by the surgery center. Here's the thing though, I maximized the chux. I would have it rotated when I thought that the chux reached its limit. I brought 15 with me and used about half for drainage. You will straight up feel gross. You are wet and sweaty and will feel a burning sensation. My face got swollen but not horrendously. My hands & arms was a different story. In case anyone is wondering, I got my arms, thighs, stomach and back lipo-ed. I drained more from my right side vs my left. Overall, the first day wasn't too bad. Take into consideration that I still had general anesthesia running through me. OH and I am an overall very healthy and active person. I play sports and always always goes on walks, I don't smoke or drink at all.
When it came to eating, I found it a little difficult to stomach food on the first day. I definitely found certain foods VERY VERY helpful. I loaded my diet with FAGE 0% yogurt + fruit, tossed salad + mejoled dates, oatmeal + apples and a bit of eggs. This is usually how I eat back in Canada and I found that if I broke everyhting down to smaller portions and take it slow, it works. I was worried that I might get dizzy and vomit but I always had the greek yogurt (to help + added protein) with fruit(to help with blood sugar) before medication and this method was a dream. If you have a sweet tooth, get dates and mix it in with your salad and add some nuts. I also drank A LOT of liquids. I usually drink a lot of water (2-3 liters) a day but I pushed it and had 4 ish liters( 1/2 a gallon), I went to the washroom a lot but I honestly felt really good every time I went and I do think it helps. Sleeping was easy. I know a lot of girls here say that sleeping on their tummy was a challenge and I somewhat agree but you definitely can make it better. The day of the sx, you won't want to move much since you're worried that you might slip and you're a little groggy . I will make a post on the little things I found useful and what I ended up using and shower etc etc. I will also post pictures later. My phone isn't cooperating at the moment. I think I will make a post on what I ate in detail just in case anyone wants to know and my bed set up.

Girl, you sound so good for first day post-op. Your lifestyle and diet are super healthy. I bet they have a lot to do with your ability to bounce back quickly. You have no help for the first few days? I asked Dr. Dass about doing this alone and he kind of dissuaded me from it. Personally, I'm all for doing it solo...LOL. I have already read your post twice. Whenever you're up to it, can you give more info on the airbnb? Thanks. Take care and keep us posted.

Lena, your posts are so encouraging. I'm in Toronto and have planned out my entire journey with Dr Dass, same as you, Airbnb close etc. The only reason I haven't scheduled my surgery is because I can't find anyone to come with me and help. Are you doing this alone? Also, anyone here interested in doing this together? It may make the recovery easier if we can help each other.

I know! It's insane! This is the only reason I haven't booked my sx yet. I can't seem to figure out aftercare. What are you thinking Myturn16?
consult via phone and pictures. He said he wasn't sure I had enough fat. I flew to LA to do an in person consult where he said he could do the surgery quite successfully! Yay! I live out of state also and stayed in a Airbnb. My daughter came with me to be my caretaker. So we rented a car. Either way being in the car is super awkward. You will be on your side/stomach in the back seat. The recovery for the first two days was awful but I had a drain tube. You will be up and about in no time. I did find that the only real supplies needed were regular band aids and neosporin. I never used the maxi pads. They also provide you with the arnica at your preop appointment. I am almost two weeks in and LOVE what I am seeing. He really is quite talented!
I hope you are recovering well. I have just had my consultation with Dr. Dass two days ago. I live about 75 miles away from his office but consider using Airbnb. Would you mind sharing a bit more information and your experience on this?
