FINALLY Got my Nose Done by Dr. Donald Yoo in Beverly Hills

I've always wanted a nose job but I was way too scared to pull the trigger. The hump on my nose bridge bothered me ever since I started putting on makeup in high school. In college, I even consulted with a plastic surgeon but ended up just getting a nonsurgical rhino with Restylane because it looked semi straight that way.
So, for the past 8 years, I've gotten fillers for my nose every 6-9 months. I got the same procedure done with a few different plastic surgeons in the area and the results were sometimes amazing and sometimes not so amazing. In 2016, I was extremely busy traveling for work and just totally forgot that I needed to get nose fillers. When my natural, humpy nose revealed itself for the first time in 8 years, that's when I decided I'm going to get a nose job.
I did a ton of research and had 6 consults with very well known surgeons that only use autologous graft because I didn't want silicone or gore tex in my nose - 3 surgeons from LA, 1 in SF, 1 in NY and 1 in Asia while I was traveling. Then I narrowed it down to 2 surgeons in LA. I eventually decided on Dr. Donald Yoo in Beverly Hills because I felt like he was the most detailed and realistic of all surgeons I've talked to. I also loved his before and after pictures. He told me he would use my ear cartilage and fascia instead of rib since I already have a tall nose. I added on a lower blepharoplasty because I was constantly getting "You look tired" from coworkers because of the bags under my eyes. I'll write a separate review for that.
Surgery day:
I went to the surgery center (which is on the 4th floor of the same building) early in the morning and the nurse took me to the dressing room and gave me the gown and a pair of knee high socks and then guided me to the room. Shortly after Dr. Yoo walked in and he marked my nose and ear. Then the anesthesiologist came in to take me to the operating room and that's all I remember. LOL
After the surgery, my husband took me home. I drank tons of water and coconut water then went to bed and I slept pretty well. So far, I feel great! I have bruises under my eyes probably because of the lower blepharoplasty or osteotomy but I don't feel much pain. Just extremely swollen. I'll keep updating my review and pics.

Looks so good! I want an Asian autologous graft rhino too. Who is the NY surgeon you were considering? I live on the east coast and would love to see Dr. Yoo, but he's so far :(

POD 6. Cast off tomorrow. So excited.
So far, I only took one norco during the past 6 days. The recovery has been easier than I thought. Honestly the most uncomfortable part is breathing through my mouth and not being able to taste anything. I had salad and chicken breast everyday with NO dressing because there was no point of putting any dressing. I lost 9 lbs so far from eating so clean! I feel like it's the most effective way to lose weight. lol
I've also been drinking pineapple smoothie everyday since Dr. Yoo told me it helps with the bruising and swelling. I am all finished with the antibiotics too.
When I took a shower, I washed my hair with distilled water and baby shampoo. I am too scared to wash the fascia area so I used little bit of distilled water and many many Q tips to clean it and then put ointment on it.
Tomorrow morning, I will be going to the office to take off my case and stitches! I am beyond excited to see my new nose. Attaching a picture of my nose before the surgery.

How was your recovery process during the past 6 days? I’m scheduled for my nose job on Dec 9th and I’m starting to get really nervous.

It was not bad at all! I slept a lot the first day when I got home after the surgery (probably because of the anesthesia) then the second day, I was able to go out and get food. I only took 1 painkiller the first night and that was it. The pain was very manageable compared to what I had imagined. BUT I did feel a lot of pressure on my nose and eye area when I moved my head forward. For example, when I dropped something on the floor, I had to be careful not to move my head too much. It all got much better after ~5 days.
Don't be nervous! I just got my cast off few days ago and I'm in love with my nose. I can breathe so much better too. You can message me if you have other questions :)

Thanks tyang07 for your response. You made me feel a little less sacred. Lol If you could have done anything differently, what would you have done? Yay, I’m glad you love your new nose. Congrats!

@tyang07. Yes, I had my surgery already. I’m 11 days post op. I was super nauseous after surgery. I’m still very congested. The fact that I had a high severe c-shape nose fracture, the doctor needed to get rib cartilage and facia from my head. The rib scar isn’t very big. Maybe an inch long. The recovery has been difficult due to the sharp pain I get in my rib if I twist or use my ab muscles to get up out of bed. It’s slowly get better, but it’s still painful. He used a lot of rib cartilage to make spreader grafts in order to try to straighten the nose. My nose is still very swollen and it’s still crooked. It’s semi-straighter, but not straight. Hopefully, it will be much straighter once the swelling goes down. Either way, I’m very grateful for my doctor’s efforts. I know realistically, my nose will never be as straight as it once was before the injury.
On this site, I saw a new asian nose surgery review. The doctor
In another state make a mess of her nose. She listed the botched job costed her 30K.Go and read her review. Many surgeons aren't good and they like to patients and paid for too much advertisement. I have a slight hump on my nose, but due to being afraid I have left it on my face for 53 years. And yes he is very pricey
