I'm flying to California to have my surgery done...

I'm flying to California to have my surgery done with Dr. Smaili.... I'm nervous, having terrible anxieties. What if I don't see my kids again or my husband, what if something goes wrong, aaaahhhhh!! Anyone feel this way? I've been wanting to do this for soooo long, I can't remember what my breast used to look like standing on there own...

3 Days Pre Op

Excited!!! Got my lab results and did my EKG today, everything is perfect! Cleared for surgery :) Now I have no excuses not to go thru with it! It's Friday, my husband and I fly out of Honolulu, HI Sunday morning, surgery Monday. I've been taking Bromelain to help minimize swelling as well as Arnica to minimize the bruising or vice versa. I'm excited, yet still worried. I'm the kinda person that expects the worst (plans for it), but hopes for the best!! I'm writing out a letter to my husband just in case...loving up my kids just in case...Got some panty liners for my wounds, saw on here alot of woman use it, so I decided to take the advice. Bought some sports bras, some loose dresses and now we're packing up!! Got some panty liners for my wounds, saw on here alot of woman use it, so I decided to take the advice. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the plane to take off....

2 Days Pre op, Changes in moods

Hey Ladies...it's 2 days til my surgery, my husband and I fly out tomorrow :) :) :) This post is not about me, well it kinda sorta is, but really for my husband. Last night, he finally shows me how worried he is about me going thru with the surgery...Awww sweet. He says I don't need it he loves me just the way I am, but we all know it's not only for our husbands, but most so for ourselves, and our self esteem, am I right? We all love our children, we just don't like our bodies. Anywho, last night we made the most intimate unreal love we've ever had... (kinda makes me wanna get butt implants) next LOL jk...and this morning I woke up to breakfast in bed and my husband says "I love you, we go everywhere together yeah honey". I said yes, but this time...I'll go in alone. What I just realized last night is that he's been holding back all his own fears trying to be supportive of my decision and I didn't realize they must worry too! Here I am talking bout, YAY!! I'm going to get my breast back, I'll be able to see my "nani" = my private without lifting up my tummy, I'll be able to wear a bra without the padding or push ups, heck, I won't even need to wear a bra!! I'm all excited and worried at the same time... more so showing him excitement to lessen his stress and worry, and selfish me never stopped to think he's sharing these feelings with me, yet trying to hide it so I don't worry more. Gonna hang up this computer today and love up my husband and my children, they're feeling everything you're going thru!! Have a good one, and the next time I come on...should be after my surgery, Good luck everyone and wish me luck!!! I'll post up before and afters :) :)

1 day post op

As far as pain, not nearly as bad as yesterday.

more pics, tummy tuck

On pain meds...just a quick update

6 days post op, excited! taking out drains tomorrow!!! yay!!!

Hi everyone! Its been 6 days, 2 visits to the doctors for follow ups. My tummy tuck drains keep getting clogged. Right now I'm only draining bout 5mls twice a day. I'm still taking pain meds, still taking antibiotics, been massaging my silicone implants every few hours til the get soft. My skins been getting itchy every now n then, so I wipe my body down with rubbing alcohol and voilĂ ! The itchiness goes away for a few hours and then I do it again. My dressings bother me the most, so I wipe around that area the most.

7 days post op, loving my new body!

I've gotta say, the 1st day was THE absolute most painful!! I had my surgery 1st thing in the morning at California surgical institute with Dr. Smaili. Not the most talkative guy, but if you read his reviews anywhere..it says he's not, and I wasn't there to make a new friend...I wanted RESULTS! so it didn't bother me much! Ask the questions, he'll give you the answers. His staff was great tho, Edith awesome follow up, lol I think she was more worried about me than I was of myself, calling every other day to see how I was doing :) Dr. Smailis nurse Maria, really great!! I asked her more questions than the doctor, by the time I saw doctor, I forgot all my questions, I felt most confident in her answers, plus she made me feel comfortable, very warm, super caring! The anesthesiologist was also great!! Heck I'm alive!!! Lol he talked made me laugh, next thing you know, surgery was done!?!?! Back to the last 7 days... Day of surgery, post op...hurt like a son of a gun! YOU WANT THE MEDS!! I have a high tolerance for pain, and I was calling for something stronger as soon as I woke up, thinking...seriously, vicodin!?!?! Wtf, that's it!?! They said let doc know you need something stronger at your follow up tomorrow. By the next day, it was weird...the unbearable pain I felt day of surgery wasn't as bad, didn't ask for stronger pain meds. Aside from walking hunched over and needing assistance getting up, its not so bad. I did sleep on a hide a bed the first 4 nights post op, because the bed was lower to the floor than the regular hotel bed, we stayed at the baymont in Lawndale, the 1st 4 nights and the Fairmont in Huntington the next 2 nights, now we're back in Lawndale . I'll continue later...

so we're back in Lawndale continued...

Okay, so we're back in Lawndale...spent the day site seeing, not too much walking, didn't feel up to it much. Woke up feeling the go go go, but after a few hours that quickly went away, my body usually tells me how much I can handle...no antibiotics, no more pain meds...that could be why...its now 1247am, I was woken by a burning hard soreness feeling in my tummy tuck and breast lift incision area...we fly out Thursday, I'm going to ask my doctor for some preventative antibiotics again...see if this time he gives it to me...

where was I....4 days post op...

The 1st 4 days We stayed in Lawndale at the baymont, in my opinion great place, sorta close to Beverly hills if you're getting ur surgery done there..they've got a double queen room with a hide a bed couch. It helped, I slept on the couch, hubby had the bed, he trIed to do the floor next to me, but that didn't work. I liked the hide a bed because it was lower to the floor than the hotel bed. And for the most part, all I did was sleep off the pain meds anyway. Just did some minor walking to and from the bathroom. The next night we spent in Huntington, drove, went site seeing etc. No driving, barely any walking, just site seeing....

5 days post op...

First night at Fairmont in Huntington, rest!..my body couldn't take anymore driving around even tho I wasn't the driver. When your body talks, listen! I could feel my wounds burning!! my husband helped me wash my hair!!!! Yay! It's true what they say, you never know what you've got til its gone!! Lol water, soap, washing your hair, oh god I missed it!! Loved the tub!! Sat in 2 inches of water, and sponged bathed...so nice!!! After that, I slept majority of the night! Next day, site seeing with my husband's friend and his wife. Mind you, I'm walking around with drains the whole time! It was almost like second nature carrying those bad boys around. I'd try to hide them by wearing larger than normal dresses that flow so you can't see the bulbs at the end of the drains! Or I'd try to tuck them between my legs, yeah that didn't work out to well, for a week I had bigger balls than my husband! I couldn't close my legs because of my 2 new ginormous friends, he says that's why men don't close there legs!! So I wore them like saddle bags...because of this I couldn't wait to take them out!!! 6 days post op, cruising the coast with friends, they had a van I could lay in the back if I started feeling the burn come back, it was nice! Got back to the room slept, and drained! 7 days post op, drains came out! Loving the new body!! My nurse told me I still couldn't shower...I had to wait til the holes closed where the drains were placed..disappointed, I thought yay!!! I can finally feel water running down my back, imma be able to wash my body, wash my hair...nope had to wait 2 more days!! So we go shopping after doctors visit, excited I get to wear better clothes. Get back to the hotel, sat in the tub, sponge bathed again. 8 days post op,wake up more shopping! My back is killing me walking hunched over, but I needed to walk so we did! 9 days post op, my first real shower! Showered with anti bacterial soap, no scrubbing around the surgical areas, just light washing. My hair got a good scrub down tho...funny after every shower whether it was a sponge bath or full shower, the work just knocked me out!! I always slept. 10 days post op, not sure if was the food I ate or not, but most of the time was spent at the hotel, bowel movements were a bit much!!! Wish I had the pain meds to give me the slight constipation back! BTW I couldn't crap the first 4 days after surgery, so expect that! 10 days post op, stayed in bed, back hurting, tummy tuck area has a burning, numbing feeling, much like my c section. My husband helped me with my dressings when I woke up this morning my incisions felt raw... I didn't want anything irritating that area so my husband helped me cover my wounds so my clothes or my compression garment wouldn't rub against it. He put some triple antibiotic cream and covered it. Went out to eat came back to the hotel, fell asleep some, woke up...irritation gone. Took a shower, my husband wrapped my stomach with Reynolds wrap so I didn't wet the incisions, and redid my dressings with triple antibiotic cream. Now its 11 days post op, we're packing up ready to go back to Hawaii!! So far so good. I had some stitches sticking out of my breast lift incisions so I cut them. The nurse at California surgical institute said if its clear, its inside and should dissolve. If its black its external and needs to be removed. I also noticed some other stitches sticking out around my aereola can't tell what color its is. Also noticed somesome bruised like yellowing around my incisions breast and tummy, wondering if this is normal.

2 weeks post op

I still have some tingling sensation at my tummy tuck incisions. My belly button seems to be healing just fine, so our my breasts! I sometimes get a burning sensation, but not too much. I have feeling in my nipples and they seem to be settling just fine, not too excited about the different size areolas the doc gave me, but none the less they still look better than what I did have! My tummy tuck is my only concern really. My incisions feel bruised and hard in some areas.

21 Days Post Op, 3 weeks Post Op Mommy Makeover

Okay, so I'm still taking my Arnica and drinking protein shakes (muscle milk) I heard it helps the muscles heal faster. It can't hurt so why not! As for my body... My right breast is completely healed (outer incisions) My left breast has some scabbing still (In the area I told my doctor I could feel the stitches coming thru) Aside from that and just getting used to the heaviness of the implants, my lift w/ augmentation seems to be just great. My tummy tuck incision seems to be okay, but my belly button seems to be getting infected. I called my doctors office today, no response. I emailed, no response. I must say, Dr. Smaili is a great surgeon... but his post operative care instructions are not so great... I've been keeping my tummy tuck incisions covered because I didn't want my clothes to irritate it, it seems to be healing well. I kept my breast incisions covered and taped for fear of separation and irritation from my clothes, and that seemed to heal well...kept my belly button uncovered as he suggested and now, that seems to be getting infected....

okay so post op, 24 days 3 1/2 weeks, slight infection.

Okay, so I'm not in the clear! Have a slight infection in my belly button! My stomachs always swollen! I haven't had the why did I do this to myself feeling....yet! All in all, I'm back on antibiotics... We'll see how it goes now....

32 days post op / one month post op

Belly button is crusting yellowish stuff...incision healed around my belly button, not sure where its coming from??? Still on antibiotics so...
