I am so excited for my upcoming procedure. I went to several docs in town from Dr. Bruno to Dr. Hughes. It really came down to Dr. Bruno or Dr. J! They were both extremely nice, professional and real about what to expect with my results. Anyways Dr. J won - it was a close tie but I feel great that I chose right. Daria in his office has been fantastic. Will post more after my procedure......

Procedure done.... now onto recovery

I think the thing that saved me was knowing what 2 c-sections were like and what it was like to recover from those! Surgery done on Monday. I said goodbye to my husband, so nervous about what was to come, hoping and praying for no problems. Dr. J came in a few minutes after, we talked, he marked my body, he even used a ruler to make his measurements! The man is precise! So calm in nature and reassuring. He said this is the easy part (surgery) the hard part is what you do after you leave here.

Facility was great. Only thing I wish I knew ahead was more about the medical staff there that is going to assist the doctor and the anesthesiologist. Didn't meet her (anesthesiologist) till right before I was put down and that is kind of scary considering they all have your life in their hands. Next thing that I knew I was coming to in the recovery bed away from the surgical room and the nurse was there helping me. Just incredible that I went to sleep and woke up with half my tummy off!! Anyways there were 2 men waiting to take me to the after care facility in an ambulance, saw my husband which made me feel at ease too. The aftercare hotel I went to was called Serenity (which I HIGHLY recommend you do for the first 1-2 nights), I am so glad I stayed there, they were just incredible! Fantastic staff, nice room, good food and pain meds! Dr. J came to see me that night and said he got 3 liters and 12lbs off! Wow! He said all went well and to rest up till I see him the next Monday. The rest of the night was a blur but I felt pretty good. Left the hotel the next day (wish I stayed one more day!) got home and went right upstairs to the lift chair I rented (highly recommend this and thank god I did get it, I went with a vinyl one from Pico Rents, it will lift you up and recline all the way so you can sleep in it). Walked every hour, took my meds and still feeling good.

Day 5 today has been tough! getting annoyed, stuck inside, hate being dependent on anyone (thank you amazing husband!!!) can't shower, hate the drains, tired of sitting, can't walk up right, hurts to walk bent, compression socks are bugging me, want to get outside.... ahhh only a couple more days for these drains to be out! Can't wait!!!

Photos to come when I have the energy to post!
