I have wanted to change my forehead since I was in elementary school. I remember vividly the moment I decided I would never be without bangs again. And so I've lived the past 15 or so years with heavy side bangs to cover up my large forehead. Constantly trying to rearrange them for photos and taking hours to get ready to leave the house if I couldn't get them to cover my forehead. I decided to google one day if there were any solutions in the world to fix a large forehead. Dr.Aharonov was the first thing that popped up, a video of him on 'The Doctors' tv show. I looked into his website and contacted him shortly after. This was about 4/5 years ago. I have been thinking about this surgery ever since. Dr.Aharonov and his assistant Faye were so kind and patient with me while I saved up and finally made the decision to go ahead with the procedure. I live in Canada so it was a huge deal for me to come all the way to Los Angeles for surgery. But I promised myself I would get it done before I got married and had photos that I will have forever.
I read a ton of reviews on realself before coming so that I would know what to expect. Faye was just as amazing and lovely as everyone had said and Dr. Aharonov was so confident, it was clear he had done this surgery many times before.
My head is quite small and my scalp was on the tight side, but none the less he was able to reduce it to the desired amount. I am only 2 days out of surgery but so far everything seems to be going as good as can be expected.
I didn't expect there to be quite this much pain, but it makes sense. The incision itself is not painful, but the back of my head and neck feel so sore it's hard to sleep. The left side of my face swelled a bit and I have a bruising around my left eye but hopefully this will go down in the next few days. The top of my head is numb, which I expected, but it does freak me out washing my hair in the shower (feels like I'm wearing a wig). All in all, it feels like I have a constant headache and the tightness in my face, head, jaw and neck is definitely uncomfortable. But I'm already gaining back some range of motion with my neck.
I'm squeamish with blood and stitches so I still get uneasy putting ointment on the stitches and staples but they will be out in 5 days.
My advice, only get this surgery if it will be absolutely life changing. It is a huge decision and a lengthy recovery time. For me it was, and I believe I will feel so much happier now. Just praying the healing process goes quick and smoothly.
I will post photos of the healing process.

It has been 10 days since I had the procedure done. I am amazed at how fast I'm healing! The first week I would only go in public with a hat on. I am now able to part my hair down the middle (yay!) and go out in public without anyone noticing anything! My head is still a little tender but it gets better every day. I can't believe how fast it was for the surgery to be undetectable. Very very happy!

Amazing! You're so beautiful. I'm planning the same procedure for myself in a clinic in London, UK, and I CANNOT WAIT to have this middle split hairstyle... I also have had a side fringe forever and being self conscious about it really bothers me even going for a walk when it's windy or going out on my bike,I also completely avoid swimming! I'm so happy to see other girls who had the same issue and how well the surgery works. And how fast it is to heal too. Truly amazing. Thanks for sharing. Maureen. x
