One drain is out!!!

Finally got one drain out yesterday. Boy did that feel weird!!! Didn't hurt at all just a very weird feeling. Feels so good to not have to carry around that thing at least one side. Now if I can get the 2nd one out before Thankgiving, I will be so happy and grateful! We'll see how much I keep outputting these next two days. PS was nice and said he'd even meet me on Thanksgiving morning to take it out! I'm still dealing with the swelling, OK trying to accept that it's just part of the healing process and get over that. I keep looking at my before picture to remind myself what I looked like before. A swollen round tummy still looks better than two belly rolls. Oh, I got a CG from the PS office yesterday but I'm not to happy about having to unsnap the crotch every time I have to use the bathroom, so will investigate and see what other options are out there. Hope everyone is healing well!!

Should I be worried?
It's been exactly 1 week post op. I feel pretty good overall. The only thing is that I still have both drains. I'm outputting about 15 cc when I check 3 times a day. It's really dark color and PS says its old blood. Today I noticed I'm starting to bruise on one side of stomach but PS says stomach is soft so that's a good sign. The thing that is bothering me the most is how swelled I am. Like I'm 3 months pregnant :(. When I look at others pics I feel like no one else is as swollen :(

Do you still wear a binder It cig during the day? I think that helps with swelling.

Sorry I can't type for some reason, I don't know why you are swollen like that. Have you asked your surgeon. I've been taking arnica everyday for swelling. It's a all natural pill that I got from Walmart. It helps with bruising too! Maybe you could try that.

I do think you are some what swollen, possibly also more than some others, it is so hard as everyone seems to heal differently however have you talked to your doc recently about the swelling? I know you hate to say "well hey doc Im on this web site and Im more swollen than some of the other girls" cause they normally say don't pay any attention to that, but that being said I would ask them if you should be this swollen especially if you are wearing compression garment daily, did you have drains ?

I'm really swollen too. I had a drainless TT and lipo. The day after surgery I was 9 lbs up from the morning of surgery. I'm two weeks PO tomorrow and in the morning my swelling is down to about 4 lbs at night it's up to 6 or 7lbs. Every day gets a little better. Drink 8-10 glasses of water EVERY day, watch the sodium in everything you eat and get plenty of rest. Your swelling will improve with time. You look wonderful!

Hi I am 12 days post op and I never put the photo of me on but I looked like u I was really bad I felt like I was going to pop now I am a lot better then I was more flatter I just drunk water lots of it lots of cranberry juice and I am better good luck x

I'm drinking as much water with lemon as I can. I didn't know about cranberry juice, does that help with swelling?

Well it mad me pee a lot and I felt that really helped for me you will slim down tho I no u don't fill u do but u will I am still swollen just not as bad I think time helps are you one of those women that bruise easy I some times look at my legs and arms and this were did them bruises come from if u are I think that y we swell really bad good luck

I don't think I have slept this much since I was a baby, lol! My hubby and family have been amazing helping be with everything. I got the pain pump removed yesterday. Now I have the two drains left on each hip. I got a peek yesterday at the doctor's and at first was surprised to see a little pouch but the PS and nurse assured me that it's normal swelling and it will go down. I'm staying on top of the pain so that has been tolerable. I've been living in the zero gravity recliner chair and highly recommend it. Happy healing to all!

sounds like you are doing great and doing what you are supposed to be doing, I heard the pain pump does really help, glad you are doing well, rest up and let them take care of you and keep us updated.
