I was impressed with Dr. Richards from my first visit. He examined me and then carefully explained what the procedure would be like and what I could expect afterwards in terms of appearance. I had looked at online photos of some of his other patients and expressed some concerns that the patients seemed younger than I am. So he patiently went through the portfolio and selected out some other women who were more in my age group so I could see their results. Both the doctor and his staff were very helpful and I was given extensive information for both pre and post operative time frames. One thing that was unexpected for me was how much pain there would be the first night after the procedure. I have had a couple major surgeries in the past and thought this one would not be too bad but the pain was actually quite acute for me - probably the face area has so many nerve endings that pain is more severe there. Fortunately I had filled the pain medication prescription ahead of time as instructed and was able to sleep the first night by taking the maximum amount of pain medication allowed on the label. By the second night though, I was able to cut back to half the dose and never needed to take anything but Tylenol during the day. After the second night, I no longer needed the prescription pain killer and the outcome was well worth that short painful period.
