Hello,
I just had the Levulan treatment done on Thursday and today is day 3(Saturday) I am RED, irritated/itchy, swollen and have tons of teeny tiny blister like things all over my face. The nurse said I reacted really well to the treatment given how red I was when the light was turned off. I've had all the lights off and shades drawn as well as sunblock on while in the house the last two days. Not sure if its just because I have so much san damage or what. I see that blisters can be a side effect, but I have yet to find anyone with a similar side effect as mine. HELP!!!

I got the same treatment done yesterday around the same time. So I'm at about my 24 hour mark, and your face is nothing compared to mine right now haha. I get it done for acne/ acne scars and I have a dime sized blister on my chin including about 4 smaller ones. Dozens of tiny ones in my pores as well. So honestly you have nothing to worry about hun. You're doing fine.

I just had my treatment Thursday 4/28 as well, and it is like hell! I have big blisters and small blisters all over my face. All last night I could feel my face weeping, clear liquid from blisters. And it still burns. They did apply a sunscreen afterwards as well. I wonder if I could have contact dermatitis also? I want to call the office but it is closed. I am glad you are feeling better.. I may have to use some hydorcortisone as well.

Mine improved with ice packs, pure vasaline, hydrocortisone cream and Benedryl. I washed my face for a long time to make sure I got all the aquaphor off. I feel your pain. I'm sorry. They won't apply sunblock on next time

Im on my Third day have been using Hydrocortisone and it stung when I applied it and seemed to irritate it more. I also tried Lignocaine 4% and that stings for a while then eases. Does anyone have any other suggestions.please?

on my third day and also have lots of redness and swelling and little blisters..thinking if it does not improve in a couple of days of calling doctor..extremely uncomfortable, may not ever do this again.

They figured out I had a reaction to the sunblock so when I go back this week to have round 2 done, they will not be putting the sunblock on. Make sure your using pure vasaline, wash with a mild soap-and put a little bit of hydrocortisone cream on.

I had my done last Thursday and i'm in the same situation as you. It stings like hell parts of my face have gone black and the rest looks like and feels like I have had boiling water poured over me. I was not told it would be this bad even though I asked heaps of questions. Have you got any suggestions for what we can use to soothe it at all. It had all better be worth it. How are you feeling now?

Pure vasaline and hydrocortisone cream. I even popped a few Benedryl. It helped tremendously. Skin is great, go back on wed for my second treatment!

Thanks for that help. It is blistered today and bleeding so i'm now concerned about infection. Time to see a Dr I think.

Good decision. Now on antibiotics ointment and heavy duty pain killers. Hoping to get some relief now. How do we download photos' on this site. I'd like to know if anyone else's is the same?

I did take some left over Vicodin I had, it helped.

It appears we don't have Vicodin in Australia but I will speak to our chemist and ask about it or something similar. Thank you for your help

I was able to share my photo with my derma who ordered the Levulan treatment and he's pretty sure its contact dermatitis from the sunblock that was applied after the treatment. I have sensitive skin to sunblock in general so this makes sense. Only allowed to apply pure vaseline and hydrocortisone cream, along with ice packs. Feeling much better about this. can't wait to see the final result.
