I had my original surgery in 2/11. Little hump removal and a narrower bridge is what I requested. The result was unsatisfactory and he suggested a revision. I had the revision in 10/12. I should have trusted my gut. I sat in a patient room for close to 2 hours before anyone took me back to surgery. This was an extremely traumatic experience for me. They could not get the meds right and i was awake when he broke my nose. It was the worst pain Ive ever felt. I could hear my self moaning like an injured animal. I answered his questions and I recall the conversation he was having with the nurse, When i told him this he denied it even though I told him exactly what he said. He says "oh no you were out". He completely scooped out all cartilage from my nose and i could not breathe. Because of money, etc I suffered for close to 31/2 years. I was hopeless, I even had another ENT look at it and said they wouldnt touch my nose, it was too fragile. By the Grace of God I decided to have Dr Sam Naficy look at it . Dr Naficy did the impossible and restored my breathing! With a rib graft he made it cute too! When I told Dr Young of this and requested my medical records he wouldnt hear a word I said. Both times I requested my primary and revision rhinoplastly records they were missing part of the op report and progress notes. surprise, surprise. Please save yourself and your loved ones from making the mistake I did. Many others have had horrible experiences as well. He is under probation by the WA State Dept of Health. you may go to the site and see for yourself. He claims "fake" patients write these reviews. I assure you I am very real and I would swear in a court of Law that what I experienced is fact. I wonder if he could do the same.

Sorry lola414 that you had that experience with us. We appreciate your input and always see these things as a way that we can improve. We really care about our patients and have a goal of treating every patient like they were our closest friends and family. On our website, you will find some of the closest people in our lives. In regards to the safety of our procedures and our facility, we recently did an analysis in our office of our infection rate and our studies show that we have approximately a 0.7 percent rate (less than 1 percent), which is much lower than the national average. We have been doing 5-13 major surgeries per week with patients under iv sedation over the past 7 - 8 years and have not had to transfer a patient for an emergency during any of our procedures. Iv sedation is a much safer approach and the complication rates versus general anesthesia is much lower. This is the way that we usually do our rhinoplasties and is most likely the way that you had your procedure. In terms of remembering the events during surgery, in our experience some of the events that occur during the recovery is often confused with events that happen during the procedure. In terms of your revision, we always want the best for our patients. Sometimes doing more surgeries may not be the right answer. Using a rib graft for a revision is usually reserved for a small percentage of revisions. It would be nice to see your before and afters for us to judge your result and for others to appreciate what your results were from our procedure and after your further revisions. We would love to help you more and you are welcome to contact us any time.

Dr. Young. You have got to stop with these canned responses that completely circumvent any responsibility you hold in these situations. It's insulting and shows no respect to the people who went through hell in your care. 1.57 from your Dept of Health statement of charged sums it up "Respondent failed to consider and address the emotional risk of harm caused by unnecessary delayed wound and infection treatment which resulted in Patient A-D's disfigurement and other long term complications."
A number of people have suffered and your responses are continuing to revictimize us. Also, claiming you have never had to transfer somebody to the emergency room might be technically true but it's misleading. The DOH report (Patient E) stated your staff had to call Overlake Hospital and seek guidance over the phone from an anesthesiologist and he refused to do so. "The anesthesiologist found the nature of the phone call troubling, and he was alarmed that the nurse did not understand that a MAP is a mean arterial (blood) pressure." So there has certainly been an emergency situation in your office and you were reprimanded by how it was handled. Finally, you know exactly who this is so don't respond with that "Is this a competing Doctor trying to sabotage me" nonsense.

Yes I agree. He doesnt listen. He is focusing on the appearance of my nose when yes, that is a big issue with me but it is Not the main reason I sought out a revision. My nose function was destroyed. The valve was collapsing, I couldnt breathe and it was ruining my life and my health! Im sorry to hear of your experience as well. I can understand your pain. He wont even comment on my being awake and in the worst pain of my life during him breaking my nose with his hammer. There is a reason he is not allowed to perform certain surgeries with out supervision. He also can not use the IV sedation meds he was using. The truth is out there, we are not making this up. Im actually a very kind person and always give the benefit of the doubt, but this man hurt me. Bad. Physically, mentally (trauma) emotionally, and financially.

Your response to him is simply factual and very informed, you are much more articulate than I am . He will not take responsibility , he should not do plastic surgery , perhaps he was better at ENT

It is unbelievable how many of us are out there. Everyone gets an infection big or small and yet he claims lower than average infection rate. I thought I had it bad with him but There are some of his patients that filed malpractice suits and Im positive they will win or get a huge settlement. Its only a matter of time before his license is taken away.

Yeah I shouldve filed something too. He should not be operating on anyone. My face has not been the same. Im only 37. I almost passed out when he cut me. I felt him cut me. That shouldve been a sign. And the workers there looked at me in surprise because i looked the same. He superglued my ear back because he cut part of it off. I did my research but i regret it. Good luck too you and God Bless. He needs to be stopped!!

Im so sorry.this happened to you! But Im not surprised. I will never get over the trauma of being awake and in horrific pain while he broke my nose. When my husband first saw me after surgery the expression on his face was pure terror. He knew something was very wrong. It may be too late to file a malpractice suit but you can still file a formal complaint with the WA State Dept of Health. Malpractice cases are notoriously hard to win because the Doctor is well protected with insurance. The most important thing is we tell our truth to hopefully save even one more person from suffering our fate. I wish you well on your path to full healing!

Ugh. It's been close to a year since my ordeal with him finally ended (when another doctor told me to have the chin implant removed). There's times when I wake up at night with my heart pounding reaching at my chin thinking it's still infected. Traumatized. It affected my relationship at the time because my poor girlfriend had to live with somebody having a nervous breakdown. I thought I'd have to quit my job because I didn't want to be seen by anyone, All the stress this caused my family too. I could go on. It was a terrible experience and the majority of it was avoidable. I feel bad reading the other stories because I can definitely relate.

Sorry DiamondJ and lola414,
We continually try to improve on all the things we do. We welcome you to come back and would love to see what we can do to help you. Are infection rate is based on looking back through our records and all of our cases. It is indeed a very small percentage of all the cases we do. We are a very busy plastic surgery office and we do about 5-13 major procedures a week. No plastic surgeon or doctor can go through their career without complications. You may not be seeing this in their public persona but it is there for sure. We have not stopped improving on the things we do. Please let us know how we can help. You can also post your pictures on this site as well so that we can see what you are talking about and we can help in that way as well. The public may be able to see what you are talking about as well and help you in this process.
