Since puberty I have noticed a lump under my armpit and excess tissue in both of my armpits. This problem runs in my family as my mother has this same issue and one of my cousins has it too. I believe it is called Auxiliary Breast Tissue. I have been self conscious of these lumps and I rarely wear tank tops or certain tops and dresses because of them. I have always wanted to get rid of them and now I am finally doing it! I had a couple of different consultations with different doctors but I went ahead and booked with Dr. Rand in Bellevue because of his knowledge, experience, and bedside manner. The surgery is booked for 1:45 today! I had my pre-op two weeks ago and I was advised to stop drinking any alcohol and to stop taking certain medications for the two weeks before the procedure and after the procedure. I have my meds filled (Percocet, antibiotics, and pills for nausea. I have packed loose fitting clothing, saltine crackers, and a water bottle for after the procedure. He is going to excise the excess skin and lipo any residual fat. I am going under general anesthesia and the whole process should take around 35 to 40 minutes. I am slightly nervous but mainly excited! I am ready to feel confident in my body and to wear tank tops and dresses without feeling embarrassed. When researching this procedure I was unable to find a lot of reviews or info (this is not extremely common, around 2-6% of women have it) so I thought I should write a review for any other women who are looking to have this done. After this procedure, in October, I will be getting a breast augmentation to add fullness and size to my somewhat deflated breasts from having 2 children and breastfeeding both of them. I am nervous and excited to begin this journey! I will post pictures later and update on my recovery.

So I had my procedure on July 25th and I am feeling pretty good. Dr. Rand and his staff were exceptional in their professionalism and care for me. I was pretty nervous when I headed into the OR but Dr. Rand and his whole team quickly made me feel at ease and comforted me during the whole process! I woke up from anesthesia and I was in no pain and I immediately wanted to eat! The nurse who took care of me was wonderful (I don't remember her name as I was somewhat loopy). I went to the post op the next day where Dr. Rand took off the tape, glued me up and put strips over my armpits. I am recovering rather easily so far and I am more than excited to see the final results!

Hello!
I just had this done about 4 weeks ago. How long was your recovery? Do you have pictures to share after the surgery. At 4 weeks I feel like I'm recovering slow and wanted to see if it was normal?
