My left eyelid had begun drooping over the past year or so, due to aging. The upper lid had also begun to appear oddly folded and sunken in. This caused me to be VERY self conscious and was affecting my quality of life. Although I only had a mild case of ptosis I decided to have an oculoplastic surgeon perform corrective surgery. I was awake for the procedure, it didn't last more than 30 minutes, and the recovery was relatively painless - just minor irritation from the sucher underneath my eyelid for a few weeks. I am very pleased with the result and am so happy I opted for surgery. At this time, a decision on insurance coverage is still pending, but the cost was well worth it, regardless.

Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience with ptosis surgery! I had a question- you mentioned that the sucher was underneath your eyelid so I am assuming that you got a mullerectomy and your ptosis was repaired internally. I was wondering how well this improved the folded and sunken in look of your upper eyelid. Did the ptosis cause your crease to become higher, and did this surgery bring it down? Thank you!
