I am considering getting a filler/Fatgrafting under the eye area... I want to share my journey because there is no one that has talked about this new Korean trend called "Aegyo Sal"
I have not gotten my procedure yet, but have only talked over email with Dr. Young himself. I was actually surprised that the doctor directly contacted me.. It is usually the front staff members that contact you first. And his response was so fast... I will get back to you after I get my face to face consult

You might want to read the reviews on this site for Dr Young before you commit to the procedure. Judging from the reviews, he appears to have many unhappy patients. Fat Transfer is a very risky procedure, particularly around the eyes and mouth. I had a very bad result (see my review) using the FT procedure. Since then, I was told by 2 Occu-surgeons (specialize in eye surgeon) that FT should never be used near the eyes because fat transferred from other parts of the body is too thick to use in the eye area. That's why it can cause visible lumps (which is what happened to me) and the only way to remove the lumps is with surgery. Please read the many negative reviews on this site regarding FT. It can go very wrong and it is permanent. There are many new products that can be used under the eye now other than FT. They are temporary, but do last a long time. Much safer to use. I would suggest ONLY going to a physician that specializes in eye surgery and treatments. Otherwise you are risking permanent damage & even risking your eyesight. I have such damage myself and have to visit an eye doc every month because now my eyelids do not close all the way (caused by FT lumping) and there is no way to fix them. Dry eye is a serious problem that I will have to deal with the rest of my life. Please be very careful and have several consults before you commit to having FT or restylane placed near your eyes. I wouldn't want what happened to me to happen to you...or anyone else. Best of luck to you...

Hey notsogood, i'm sorry to hear about the lumps under your eyes. I've read some people have gotten rid of them by getting lower belph done and having them removed through the incisions used during that surgery. You may want to consider that as well. Dr. W is a occuplastic surgeon in Philadelphia who is very familiar in correcting lumps under the eyes and performing fat transfer there. I believe only 0.5 cc's - 1cc's should only be transfered to the under eye area. Anymore you risk lumping. Ive also read about another patient who had fat transfer done by Dr. Bitner in Utah whose results turned out great. Everything ive read suggests that lumping is caused by fat necrosis and the only way to get rid of it is to remove it through incisions or dissolve it using steroids. Id rather risk a scar than have steroids performed. The scars from lower bleph are easily concealed. Anyhow I hope you find a solution.

Thanks Soren40. I did have the lumps removed from underneath my eyes with surgery. It is better, but it also took some of my own original fat (apparently unavoidable) so I do have dark circles under my eyes as a result, but I can cover most of it with makeup. After experiencing a horrible result with FT and my permanent vision problems now, I guess I'm just too afraid to mess with that area anymore for fear of making it worse. My biggest problem can't be fixed...that is the lumps that formed in the crease of my upper eyelid.s That is what is keeping my lid from closing all the way. I've been told that any attempt to remove those lumps would make my upper lid even smaller and make the closing problem even worse. The resulting dryness from the lid not closing would ultimately cause blindness. No way it's worth that risk, so I am just learning to live with the problems I have the best I can. I use restasis, have tear duct plugs (to create more tears), use ointment at night & wear goggles to keep in the moisture, and drops during the day several times. Monthly checkups to make sure I'm okay. It's scary and a lot of work, but it's what I have to do save my sight. So now you know why I try to warn others about FT or fillers near the eye. The risk is too high...and it can end up a disaster. It's not a rare event. I now know dozens of women who truly regret using FT. Once it goes bad, it's almost impossible to fix...especially if it's used in the upper eyelid area. I'll be paying for the mistake for the rest of my life, I just wish I could convince others that the risk is just not worth it. I hope sharing my own experience might help others make different choices. Thanks again for your suggestions. Tho it's too late for me, I'm sure they might help others here. :-)

Well Hannah here appears to have good results after 3 fat transfers (now going on 2 years) as well as other people off of here. She just wants to now try doing fat transfer under the eye which I agree is fairly risky but im considering as well. As for your ongoing problems notsogood i'd recommend getting another opinion from Dr. Wulc in Philadelphia. Hes one of the best occuplastic surgeons in the United States and has dealt with patients who have had problems similar to yours.

I went to wulc he's not that good. He couldn't remove any of my fat lumps under my eyes by any ways. Then he lies too. He told me a certain Dr had a filler for $900 that last 7-10 years so I asked if he could put it in my eyes he said he didn't have it. When I got home & called the Dr that wulc said had this filler they laughed & said if a filler last that long they be out of business

Sorry, onceaprettyface I didn't see your second comment. Strange that he couldn't remove the lumps of fat under your eye. Typically that's where it's easiest to remove via direct excision. I'm sorry you got lied to too.

Hey Hannah, is your fat still there from your original fat transfer to the cheeks and jaw? Why not go back to the place did your first one if it turned out good?

Dr wulc is not that good I went to him and now I'm off to BH to see taban and massry. The best fat transfer doc is Dr William little in Washington dc. He don't advertise &he really don't have to.

Depends on what you use Dr. Wulc for. He's an eye surgeon first and foremost. I wasn't saying use him for fat grafting but to repair "notsogoods" eye that she's having trouble closing. Did you have fat grafting done with him oncea pretty face? What were the problems you experienced?

no i went there for him to remove fat lumps from a bad fat transfer in my lower lids. i drove 2 states. i loved debbie she was great. he looked at me for 5 mins and recommended that i get a filler to disguise the lumps. so i asked him to do it and he said no you should go and see the best injector gave name then said this dr had a filler that last 7-10 years. so when i got home i called that doctor and they laughed saying if a filler would last that long they would be out of business. so i called and spoke w debbie telling her what dr said, she called me back 3 days later and said "dr wulc said he would give you a filler" that 7-10 yr i asked? debbie said no jevederm last 1 year. then i asked why didnt wulc give me it in the 1st place. like i want to call off another two days of work and drive 500 miles one way

i dont take post and reviews unless i talk w people, i agree however i had a woman who sent me b/a pictures of a botched procedure and dr little corrected it and made her look 20 years younger. i had a botched surgery 4 years ago and seen 15 eye specialist. most of them ref me to BH. i spoke privately to people who had good & bad results from doctors so i have some kind of idea on what to look for but dr wulc is not all that he thinks he is a 4 state 4 board dr with all his art work displayed in his office. he has a few bad reviews on ratemd too. just giving someone a heads up

im not saying hes bad but he is not the best ocular out there

i just read katie.p review but she really didnt elaborate on it much said she was disappointed in the scars but didnt say how long ago it was. you will get scars from a facelift and sometimes your hair will fall out but the scars eventually fade and hair grows back. so i cant base that review at all

I didn't see that but I will check it out. Thx. I believe that 99% of PS are like used car salesman. I never thought I would have my looks drastically changed by taking some fat out. It's been a nightmare for me
May 3, 2016
Yeah taking fat out can be disastrous. There's a woman on here who had too much fat removed from her cheeks and as a result it left her face "baggy". Fat and collagen support our facial structure and help keep our skin taut. If too much is removed the skin loses that support and sags. The woman I speak of ended up going to "Dominic Bray" in London. Now there's a surgeon who has excellent reviews on multiple sites. Unfortunately he's expensive and the wait time for an appointment is often a year since he's so popular. He also corrected the lumps she received from a bad fat transfer.

wow !!! i went to a so called "top" doctor according to RS who changed my entire looks its very devastating. i'll check him out thanks

Make sure to do your due diligence and look him up on the Washington state dept of health website. There's information on there about him that every potential patient of his should be aware of.
