So far, just initial consult. After consulting with several surgeons, I chose Athenix in Bellevue. Some doctors have said I would not be happy with the skin only mini-tuck, but I dont mind a belly!! It does not have to be flat, I Just dont want the hanging pouch gone!! If anyone has any feedback on that then let me know. Otherwise.... I nervously await March.

$14000 for skin-only seems very expensive.

Oh I'm getting a breast lift and implants as well. Its the price after everything. I think that I have a fairly good grasp on all of it but the mini-tuck :)

The skin-only is only an extra 3k after the breasts

How do his B&As look for the skin-only procedure?

They look good from what I have been shown. There are some that are similar to me but nothing that looks exactly like me. However, I can say that he doesnt leave dogears on women which makes me hopeful, I think thats my biggest fear.

Sorry, but I think $3000 to trim some skin and suture it up is still expensive. More importantly, I suggest researching the mini-tuck as much as possible. You may say you don't mind a belly now, but think about how you may feel a few years down the road. A regular TT would keep you well ahead of the game. During any of your consults, has a doctor mentioned what condition your abdominal muscles are in currently? Either way, good luck!

Thanks for the reply... Yes, all 3 consults have told me that my abdominal muscles are in really good condition and wouldnt need repair. You think 3k is too much? How much do they run in your neighborhood because I didnt think any kind of surgery went for less than that LOL.

If it was by itself, absolutely. But you're already paying $11,000 for a BL/A. Anyway, the most important thing is that you pick the right surgeon. Good news that your ab muscles are fine. Since you have some time until the surgery date, I would ask to speak to some of his BL and mini TT patients if you haven't already. I just had a feeling, so I checked the ASPS, ASAPS and the ABPS and he is not listed. He doesn't mention being a board certified plastic surgeon (anyone can call themselves a cosmetic surgeon) on the Athenix website either. That would be concerning to me.

It says on their site: "Dr. Hardeep Dhaliwal is a Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon with a concentration in breast, body and facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery." Since what I am getting is technically cosmetic surgery, I thought that was what I was looking for?
December 18, 2014
That just means he passed his state boards to be a doctor. Any doctor can legally perform surgery. It doesn't mean they know what they're doing. You want a surgeon who has fulfilled the specialized requirements of at least one of the plastic surgery boards. His bio says he did his residency in maxillofacial surgery (technically a dental specialty in the US), and a one-year cosmetic surgery fellowship. That is not nearly enough. I would not let any surgeon who is not certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery touch me. Google "how to choose a plastic surgeon" for more info.

I should add here that I have talked to several of his past mommy makeover patients who were all super happy with him. The fact that he is cosmetically certified versus plastic wasnt a concern of mine when I had this explained to me in more detail when I was in the office; he's apparently received a more rigorous training in the areas that I need work done this way. I am happy with my choice and the work that he has done on others. I dont need to google anything, thank you, I have made my choice as far as facilities go. Thank you for your feedback.

Mistyblonde where did you go? Where are all of your prices and before and after pics?
December 18, 2014
My plastic surgery procedures are not listed on this site. Best of luck to you with your upcoming surgery.

Best of luck to you as well and your apparently unmentionable expertise in cosmetic surgery.

I can see you're upset. I have had 20+ years of various plastic surgeries, about half of which were revisions to repair the work of a poor surgeon. I have nothing to gain personally by warning you that your surgeon appears to have no plastic surgery board certification. I would not wish the heartbreak and devastation of a poor surgical outcome on anyone and I wish someone had been there to warn me and save me from it. I may put a future surgery on here as it happens, but I have no need to relive the past. Educate yourself about plastic surgery certification and its requirements. It can only help you, perhaps much more than you may realize now.

Mistyblonde Update! I'm SOOO SO SO glad that I decided to do all that research on a board certified COSMETIC (not plastic) surgeon! Dr. Dahliwal did an AMAZING job and was worth all the money over all the hack-jobs that I passed up in my searches for a surgeon. Looking forward to posting more post pics!

I can't update pics. I posed a question and some REALLY REALLY odd-angled unflattering pics, and I dont even look like that anymore. But I'm still getting emails every time someone wants to voice their opinion on it. So apparently this website now "owns" pics of my fairly-naked body. Crap.
