Hi All! I went in for my 3 month follow up yesterday (a couple of weeks late). Everything is healing nicely, PS still thinks the scars will fade and I'll see more fluffing. I am not sure, but even if everything stayed the same I'd be satisfied. I'm still not 100% used to seeing myself without implants -- I do like my new shape and am so glad to have the silicone OUT of my body -- I'm just not sure I look very good. I was able to get all of my photos from the PS -- it was fascinating to see where I started 14 years ago (when all I wanted was a LIFT!) and then the journey through two sets of implants and finally removal. It made me emotional to look at the progression. Ultimately, I am glad to be on the other side -- I just wish it wasn't such a long, expensive and painful journey.

5 weeks post op - update and photos
Hello All! I finally am seeing some reduction in swelling and wanted to post some current photos. I was given the go-ahead to ditch the post-surgical compression bra last week and am allowed to wear "normal" bras (no wire, soft cup) now. I'm still a little tender so I didn't want to get professionally fitted yet. Plus, I know my final size will probably change as things continue to settle. I found some soft, wire-free Warners bras at Target that are fine for now (34A fits best).
I've had the steri strips off for two weeks and all my incisions are nicely closed up. I am now wearing silicone scar treatment strips for 20 hrs/day -- I will let you know how effective they are in a few weeks. This treatment is for 3 months. I'm actually very happy with my shape - I think they're pretty cute and perky :) And my overall body shape seems to make more sense now -- I look more athletic and proportionate (ironic because I was told the implants would create a better proportion and "balance out" my hips...HA!)
All in all, I'm feeling pretty good. Still getting used to the new figure -- it's so nice to wear normal clothes, like t-shirts, and not feel like I'm putting the girls on display. I definitely feel more like myself! I have not yet started back to my workout routine but hope to get that going in a week or so.
Overall -- GREAT decision, never doubted explant/lift were the right choice for me. I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Wishing you all a wonderful October and lots of peace & happiness.

WOW. They look Great!!
Aww, thank you twatson! You made my day :)
Thank you for the update jasjet - you look beautiful!
You look beautiful. I love your natural breasts much better! Congrats
Since I am rather "hippy" myself, I thought I would look more balanced too. You are so right in saying you feel much more natural and things make sense. I'm 11 post explant lift. Still tender, but much, much happier without those sacks! You look wonderful! Keep on healing!
Same to you exhale! I'm thrilled for you and glad you're on the other side. :)

Feeling much better today
It's amazing what a shower and some normal clothes can do to lift your spirits! I also really appreciate the kind words here - it is such a blessing to have the support of other women going through the same things.
I actually bought this sundress pre-explant knowing it would be a nice, light outfit for after surgery and it fits great!

You are looking amazing! I agree, they are so cute!
Wow, things look fabulous!!!! I'm thrilled for you. Natural is a great look on you! Congrats!
You look wonderful!!! I am scheduled to have mine removed October 24th. I have already shared with the girls that I am 72 and have had 11 surgeries-sooo many encapsulations..I hope I look as great as you do but, at my age, I doubt it. God Bless
Congrats on your decision! I'm sure it will be nice not to have to worry about any more surgeries. That's how I feel. I had mine in for 26 years before explanting. So happy!!!
My PS is indicating she will do an Internal Lift at the same time as the explant. I'm researching that now. Please let me know-anyone- if you've had that done in that order. Thanks for your cheering me on. I have had implants since I was 34 y/o. That's a very long time when you're now 72.
It's never too late to make healthy decisions for yourself - congrats twatson and I look forward to hearing how it goes!
You look fantastic!!
I really love your breasts. they are beautiful.
