I decided after 10 years of neglecting my mouth it was time to face the music and do something about this hideous teeth ive been hiding my entire life. I made a consultation with clear choice in Bellevue WA in December and was scheduled for the all on for for Jan 24th. I had anxiety all the way until the date. I went in and showed up 15 mins early like they asked, only to have me wait for an hour and a half before they finally started the procedure. When my doctor actually came in and explained why the process was happening so late she apologized and actually made me feel ten times more secure in the person I chose to do my surgery. She really cared about what this surgery meant for me and my family and not what it meant for her pockets. After she explained what the next 6 hrs of the day would look like she ensured me that she would take care of me just as her own kid. I woke up to find not only did she follow through on all her promises but she even added an extra screw to my all on 4 to secure my smile for a lifetime and didn't charge me a dime more. So I got an all on 5 instead of 4 implant on my entire top roof.
Now let's talk recovery... Just like any dental surgery its not a walk in the park. Day 1 was still a lot of numbness but day 2 boy did I turn into a balloon. I had the Kardashian lips and not in a good way. And just when I thought it would stop there, I was sadly mistaken when I woke up day 3 with even more swelling up to my eyes and two black eyes to go with it. Starting to get a litter concerned I reached out to my surgeon, and believe it or not it was her actual cell number on post op instructions!!! She answered after 2 rings and immediately knew who I was. Lol. Thank God because I'm sure my words were not the best to understand. She advised that the swelling and black eyes were completely normal and put my concerns to ease. Im now on day 5 and let me tell you the swelling has went down tremendously!!! I still have two black eyes and Kardashian lips unfortunately but I'm confident within a few days those should heal as well. I've lost about 15 to 20 lbs since the surgery. Only since I haven't been able to eat much. I stick to the kids danimal smoothies, carnations protein shakes and cambells cup in hand noodle soup. I'm hoping to switch it up next week but at this point I'm happy with what I'm able to eat. Ill try and post a update later next week!

Oh MY! I am so happy with that you had a very caring surgeon or else I would have been concerned with your recovery. I hope that the swelling and bruising goes away quick for you! Do you have temporary bridges or do you now have your permanents? Are you happy with the teeth?
January 31, 2018
I have my temporary now for the next 6 month's. My temps feel a little differnt for me. Something about not having your regular teeth that still hasn't quite sunk in yet. I'm still on a liquid diet and I'm dying for my next week checkup to ensure everything is healing ok and hopefully I can move to pasta or something different. I'm so hungry lol

awww.... I am a little over 2 months post op and honestly I was lucky because I was able to eat pretty normal right away. I had both my upper and lower done and they gave me all on 5 too for additional support. Did you get both tops and bottoms done or just tops? Do know that it will take time to get use to the feeling and not feel like you have an odd object in your mouth. But it does get better and one day you will realize that they have been a part of you. :)

I only had my top since they seen nothing wrong with my bottoms other than needing braces. I remember reading your story before my surgery! I hoped my recovery would have been more like yours but since they pulled 12 of my own teeth I think my face was a little in shock lol. I don't really like how tight it feels against the roof of my mouth so I'm hoping that will get fixed. I assume you have your permenants now? How do they differ from your temps?

I had 8 pulled from the top and 8 on the bottom. The tightness on the roof of the mouth does subside. I think it is just caused by the swelling and the actual implants. But it does go away in a few weeks. I do have my permanents. The dentist I opted to go to does immediate load of permanents so I didnt have to do the temporaries. I am not 100% sure about the difference but from what I understand is that the temporaries are just that. temporary teeth that are not necessarily made personally for you but more a stock item to use until your permanents are made. From what I read, the temps are sometimes a bit more bulky. Since I never had to get the temps I cant really say what the difference is. :)

Wow I'm so happy to talk to someone else who's been through this!! It really helps! I was looking into your Dr as well but the thought of flying somewhere to get this done just terrified me even more. I'm so glad to hear how satisfied you are though, I hope when I get my permenants I can say the same! Please keep in touch with your progress as well. I'm thrilled to have someone to talk to about this without being embarrasst or holding back!

Hi blasian beauty! Although I'm still waiting (ha!) to accrue enough money for top & lower arches I'm happy Ang is writing to you and making you feel more secure and to know many have been through this and lived to tell the tale! I believe Clear Choice; despite advertisements usually do temps first. If you are someone like myself with probable bone loss due to extractions in critical areas there may be no choice but to have bone grafting then temps then perms. Rather a lengthy process for some; however well worth it if you are so miserable with whatever you had in your mouth-if anything excepting your tongue! I have read 99% of the time that bulkiness strange feelings etc. etc. are temporary especially until you get the perms-however there is always an adjustment period as to speaking, feeling when you have what is really a huge change to your body. I often feel, just based on having many caps or a bridge on my upper front 4 teeth that even with that more minimal change-each time I had them re-done I had to adjust all over again. I just realized I haven't asked others with temps prior to perms if the temps are 'snap-in' or if they or you have a 'flipper' on the roof of your mouth? At any rate-you will be fine and as I do for all who undergo this I'm sending prayers & hope your way! Please stay in touch re:progress!

Hello! I'm sorry you still have to wait. Waiting just want an option for me as I want to get married next year and needed a smile that matched how he makes me feel on the inside. My temps are screwed in just a the permenants will be but I'm just not familiar with these teeth. I was told by my surgeon to bring in photos at my 2 week checkup of what I would like my smile to look like so I'm currently searching images trying to find what I like best. I loved that I went with clear choice bc they take so much time to ensure my bite and my teeth are custom fit for me. It typically takes 6 months for your implants to heal to your bone and gums and your bite and teeth can definitely change after that breaking process so I definitely wouldnt want to speed it up. I did not need any bone grafting as I just turned 30 and fortunately got in for my procedure before my teeth were too bad. I only had the upper done since my bottoms are fine only need braces. I just miss the fact that I can't bite into a cheeseburger right now. I'm so hungry. O well the things we sacrifice for beauty. I'm going for my 2 week post op next Wed, I truly hope they say I'm healing fine and give me a Wendy's cheeseburger as my reward

You just made me laugh which is nice since I rarely do-had a fall from a high ladder to cement so my bones didn't heal correctly and I've been putting weight on right side so much I ruined my knee and hip on right side!! So I'm in constant pain-but the cheeseburger made me laugh because a month b4 the ladder thing I had caps on 4 upper front that were pretty but decay started under them. They literally just came out. So I had these little decaying stubs and was freaking out-a dentist told me the price of implants-$45.000 in N.Y. and I nearly passed out 'cause my boyfriend was giving most of his money to his ex and very little to help me-(finally threw him out). so I no longer had much money and was out of work due to (honest)a severe back injury. So. The dentist said for 6grand he would pull other teeth on top and use "temporary caps" instead of the pretty porcelain & gold I was used to. But...he said they weren't going to last long-could break easily-I swear I have not chewed real food since then!! Nothing xcept greek yogurt for the high protein and ice cream-anything I don't chew. Then I started to try to save slowly for implants but everything ended up going to hospital, helicopter. etc. Then I fractured a front bottom tooth and this dentist said my bottoms were too weak for caps and decay was starting AGAIN on top-I think dry mouth from pain meds and not being diligent with a dentist did me in. So now I don't even want to try & meet anyone!! The broken off bottom is visible when I smile and the "temps" have gotten darker. My smile was one of my best features. Thought of a go fund me-a lot do 4 implants but I'd feel guilty-there are kids with severe illnesses that need money. Oh well. Sure your teeth will end up being beautiful!

Yeah sounds like a lot! Have you tried getting a loan? We took an equity line of credit out on our house so I could do this. Maybe look into a community college in the area they do stuff for half the price bc they are still learning. I hope you can find a solution. Everyone derseves to be able to smile

There is a University @ an hour away which would be fine but they have a terrible reputation-a super long waiting list and the students are rarely supervised etc. Then-I was thinking of trying it anyway & it turned out to be nearly as much as private dentists! Unbelievable! I have a great credit score but two problems. 1) my monthly income is pathetic for Long Island and2)it would be impossible to pay back. At present I have a friend who helps a little with medical coverage so when I have my leg surgeries I'll not have overwhelming co-pays. So pretty stuck for now. It's scary though because the consults I had said the upper caps(which are all bonded together) could "fall out any minute." And I have no plan! Can u imagine how gross & scary that would be? The dentists-I'm not going to carry on-only need a two day course to be either certified or licensed to do implants. I thought that was a rumor but my brother-in-law's good friend is married to a dentist & she confirmed it. Said her husband was raking in some major bucks. I don't want to offend anyone but you would think they could do a pro bono once in a while. Well I'm hoping and praying a lot. You never know what could be around the corner. Thanks for writing hon. Take care, Andrea

We are a week apart in the process. I had 18-20 teeth removed (I thought 18 but the doc says 20) and currently have temps. What will your permanents be made of? I get mine around June 1, too!!!

Hey,...I am going to get this procedure done in a month. Very nervous of the outcome as well as surgery. I’m very lucky my Aunt is helping me finance this. I have 14 teeth to be removed from upper and 5 are broken off at the gum line. Waiting on a call from the denturist to go in for an appointment to start getting the temporaries ready. Then when he has an approximate time on finished product the surgeons will schedule my surgery. I’m assuming it won’t be longer then a month. What should I expect going for the denturist appointment?

Hi, you are INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL!!
Teeth look like a MILLION DOLLARS!!
are the perm teeth snap on or screwed in and removed when you visit the dentist?
May 31, 2019
Thanks so much. They screw in and they take them out when we go to get them cleaned
April 19, 2018
Do they have payment options for this type of procedure?
May 31, 2019
Yes they do but it depends on ur credit

1 week update!!

blasianbeauty21
Ok guys its officially been 1 week since I've had my entire top teeth taken out and replaced with implants. My pain has been really minimal the entire process but the swelling and bruising has been another story. Thank God my selling is practically gone and my two black eyes have almost disappeared! I'm getting excited for my check up next week so I can ensure everything is healing right. My top ridge near the roof of my mouth feels kind of tight. Its been bothering me since they installed it so I'll probably bring that up at my next appointment. I'm so happy I took 6 weeks off work to ensure when I go back I'm comfortable with my new teeth and can speak without slurs. Before my procedure I had a lot of questions and concerns that I searched their internet for looking for answers and to be honest none really helped with the anxiety. Not to mention everyone recovers completely different from surgery so you can't expect your recovery to be the same as mine or the next. Ill be back next week after my 2 week checkout.

Thanks for sharing your story. I have to do this but lack the finances to do so at the moment but I still do research to see who would be the dentist I'd end up going to. I heard good things and cost of dentists in Mexico but this dentist's cost seems comparable and one does not have to leave The States so thank you for sharing again. Good luck with your healing process and thank you for keeping us informed. Big hug and hang in there.

Yeah I heard horror stories about people going to Mexico so I did not wanna risk it. I did a lot of research before I made the plunge as well. I saved a lot because I only needed my top done as my bottoms are still in pretty great shape thank god. Lol I hope you end up with a great surgeon as well!
