I had a blocked tear duct and recurring irritation of the eyelids. I was tired looking like I was always crying. Multiple doctor visits over a period of a year attempting to clear the blockage with several irrigation attempts, antibiotic treatment, and silicone intubation, all failed. Surgery was not an option I wanted to pursue for fear of facial scaring. Finally one doctor referred to Dr. Tarbet stating that if I were his daughter, this who he would send me to. My first consultation visit , she was extremely empathetic and took the time to discuss the blockage problem and surgical procedure in detail. After a thorough analysis, she recommended a DCR, as this was the only option to clear a significant blockage. I was initially disappointed with the surgery verdict, but Dr. Tarbet expressed a high level of confidence that I would be happy with the result, so I decided to move forward with the procedure. Post surgery I was tear free, with a minute incision which practically disappeared after 6 months, and totally invisible after a year! I am extremely pleased!
