Bellesoma Breast Lift and Explant

WORTH IT$12,000
I have had 3 sets of breast implants in the past 15 or so years at a cost of over $30,000 and I never achieved what I hoped for: beautiful breasts. After all of that I thought my best chance for a good result would be explant and lift, and I posted that question with some photos here on Realself.com. One of the replies to my question came from Dr. Gary Horndeski, who recommended the Bellesoma breast lift. He said this method of lift would give me volume in the upper pole of the breast and bring them closer together to create nice cleavage. That was exactly what I hoped to achieve but never did with each augmentation and revision! It sounded too good to be true.
Fast forward a few months. I am now one week post op from my surgery with Dr. Horndeski, and the results are everything I hoped for and more. It hasn’t even really sunk in yet that I finally have the beautiful, perky, youthful breasts I’ve wanted for so long. I wish I had known that Dr. Horndeski and his Bellesoma method existed years ago, I never would have gotten my second or third set of implants.
Dr. Horndeski’s staff is awesome. They are very good at helping out of town patients travel to Houston. They are available, knowledgeable, and kind.
I hope that anyone considering implant revision, explant, or breast lift will come across this review and look into the Bellesoma method. If I had learned about it sooner I would have avoided unnecessary procedures and saved myself a lot of money and disappointment.

I know this post is old but can you confirm if you lost any upper volume the past 2 years?

I’m so happy for you!! This review is not old at all, I’m less than 4 weeks post op. This surgery has been life changing for me in that it gave me exactly what I’ve been trying to achieve for almost 20 years with 3 breast augmentations in that time. I believe you may and I hope you will have similar results with the amazing Dr. Horndeski and his Bellesoma lift. The results are supposed to be permanent since your own breast tissue is attached to your pec muscle, and he attachment is permanent. My results are getting better every day as I heal, and I’ll update soon with pics. Good luck to you!!

Update - 5 weeks post Bellesoma lift and explant

I thought I would post an update since I continue to heal, and they just look better and better. I’m 5 weeks post op in these pics (surgery Jan 8, 2019 and pics taken Feb 11, 2019). I’m thrilled with my results, and there is no better feeling than finally being happy with my body and comfortable in my skin. I have some puckering at the edges of my incisions that will probably require a little revision, but it gets better every week. I only wish I had done this sooner.

On his videos it says no minimal scarring. All his breasts I see on his webpage have pretty noticeable scars. I would love to have this procedure done. Not sure if want the huge scar, though. Best of luck during your recovery!

It's a give and take. You can expect to be sliced open and have no scarring. I had wrist surgery and my scar is very thin. I'm hoping my boobs will be the same. The overwhelming majority of doctors will do the best they can, and your wound care and body take over the rest.

Do you find the tissue being tethered to your muscle uncomfortable. Have you tried to work your pectorals?

Thais a very good question! And the answer is that now, 6 months out, I have no discomfort whatsoever. I’m still getting my strength back. I used to bench press 95 pound for sets of 10 without too much difficulty, and now I can only do sets of 6-7 with that weight. There was a lot of discomfort at first, but none whatsoever now.

That’s a very good question!! I hope she can answer as I’m curious about this too!

I should start by saying that I’m still thrilled with my breasts overall, and I would get a Bellesoma lift again in a heartbeat. Dr. Horndeski is brilliant and he gave me a more beautiful result than I could have hoped for.
However, there have been some issues with my incisions that are still not resolved. Unfortunately I think I’m going to have to see a different surgeon and have another procedure to get an acceptable outcome. After the initial procedure I was left with large “dog ears,” which is puckered skin at the ends of the incisions. My skin was stretched from many years of large implants, so it’s not surprising that I was left with excess skin after the procedure. I’m sure Dr. Horndeski wanted to make the incisions as short as possible. So I went back six months later, fully expecting the revision to be super easy, but as it healed in the weeks to follow I realized it looked sloppy and incomplete. I’m now one year out from the initial procedure and six months out from the revision, and it hasn’t improved in that time. When I wear a bra the excess skin folds onto itself and low cut tops show the deformity. I’ve consulted with another surgeon to remove the excess skin and hopefully that will fix the problem. I wish I would have gone somewhere else six months ago, but I couldn’t have known. I would still recommend this procedure wholeheartedly. But I would add that you should expect to need a revision in six months after the scar has fully contracted, and if you have the means to do it with a different surgeon you may get a better result.

You might benefit more from having a bit of fat transfer done to that area instead excess skin cut out. Have you considered that at all? That way, the loose skin would be filled in nicely and smoothed out by the fat. I don't think it would take that much fat to adjust your cleavage, so the downtime could be very minimal. I am getting a touchup on just one breast in about 3 weeks so I will post before and after. You may want to check it out after I post if you are on the fence regarding FT procedures.

Thanks for keeping us updated! Your breasts look really good, especially compared to the animation deformity you were dealing with before. Maybe try a larger cup size with no space between center wires? Or perhaps a wireless bra? Maybe gaining a bit of weight to fill out the skin? You are very slim and trim so I think you would be ok to fatten up a little if that is acceptable to you. You actually look fine in your blue top to me. If you don't mind me asking what size breast where you prior to implants, and what size implant did Dr. H remove? What size are you now 1 year post op? Did you use any scar treatments? Sorry for all the questions! I'm scheduled for explant and bellesoma lift with Dr. H Feb 6th and I am super nervous about procedure, possible complications, recovery, and results. I wish more people had posted explant reviews. Thanks again for yours!!! :)

I'm confused.....are you happy with the dr or no?

I had dog ears too. It was because I had too much skin as well. I went in for revision out patient after 7months.One side is flat now, the other still a bit puffy.
