Bellafill Horror - Tried to Remove Surgically, but See Very Little Change

Bellafill Horrors - Do Not Use

MiaLaK
Do not use Bellafill!! I had the product injected on the left and right side of my chin years ago. No problem until I received the Pfizer vaccine. I noticed an inflammation on both sides. Initially they just felt like small bumps, maybe a deep pimple. As they got bigger, my doctor advised an ultrasound. The ultrasound only showed a dark mass and the radiologist noted it as inflamed fillers. After consulting with two plastic surgeons I was told it is from Bellafill that was injected in my chin nearly a decade ago (product is permanent). I started a course of injections, steroids and 5Flu (chemotherapy medication). After several courses of treatment with no result, my plastic surgeon was advised by the company that distributes Bellafill, Suneva Medical, based in San Diego, that Bellafill can cause an aberrant immune response following vaccination causing granulomas. My doctor tried to remove some of surgically, but I see very little change. I have gotten two additional injections since my procedure three weeks ago. The bumps on my chin are still there and now I have depression next to them from the repeated injections. I have contacted Suneva but despite their medical advisor's conversation with my doctor, they are denying recognizing this terrible site-effect of their product.

Oh my God I can't so sorry! I have sculptra injected in my face years ago and I'm terrified it's going to somehow reappear someday granulomas ! I just read someone else's story on here how are after getting their vaccinations and had their regular Botox that burned like acid and now they have a severe rash all over their forehead. It Has to be due to the vaccine and the bodies immune response. I sincerely hope that these clear up for you. It's very, very scary.

Don’t worry about Sculptra, it dissolves over time. Bellafill is a permanent filler and the company that sells it in the US is aware of the granulomas issue. It is rare side effect but in my opinion it should be removed from the market. I plan to report it to all government agencies and the American board of plastic surgery.

So sorry to hear this happened . I'm also having issues with bellfill injected over 5 years ago . I'm so pissed off about doing it , and there doesn't seem like any great solutions . You will probably have to travel somewhere in the US (if that is where you are ), to one of the Bellafill complication expert and possibly get it cut out . There really very very few who manage Bellafill complications . I knew the vaccine was unsafe . Curious what your thoughts are on it now and whether you will get more boosters ? Sorry again that you r going through this , and know that you are not alone in the Bellafill hell .

The fault is with Bellafill and not the covid vaccine. The company is aware of possible information and granuloma if the patient’s immune system responds to the product for several different reason, the covid vaccine being one.
My surgeon did attempt to remove the scar tissue but it made very little difference. Currently I am receiving bi-weekly injection of a product that was recommended by Bellafill. I don’t recall the name but it is not steroids, although we did try steroid injections as well. It is getting better.
I was boosted two weeks ago and I will continue to get boosted because it is the right thing to do to not only protect myself but protect others and to stop this pandemic even if it means I will have to continue to get shots injected to control the inflammation.

Why are you having it removed? I've never done filler but was thinking about doing a little bellafill for smile lines (38).

Unfortunately many fillers have been interacting with the mRNA vaccines. They existed long before the vaccine did and it is the responsibility of the vaccine company to warn you of possible contraindications. Unfortunately for everyone, there were never any warnings about the mRNA vaccines. I'm shocked your doctor was ok with you getting boosters after this happened with your filler.

Unfortunately, there are no “experts” in the US who specialize in the removal of Bellafill. There are many providers who push the product but as soon as there are complications, you will find that there is lack of expertise to manage it. I have been searching for 3 months and so far, no luck. There is a provider in Italy who claims he can remove via laser. There is also a clinic in Netherlands that can potentially remove via laser

Yes I totally agree that basically all the doctors who push the product just walk away once there are complications . The doctor who injected my Bellafill prescribed a pack of oral Steroids and said that was all he could do . My new doctor won't mess around wth my Bellafill and says this is why he doesn't use it . When I said experts , I was referring to the doctors on here who claim they manage Bellafill complications. I suppose they are not experts , but just the very few who will attempt to correct it . You can find them commenting on the Bellafill complication questions . I'm sure there is no way solution and there is not a one fits all answer . Hopefully in the future they figure out a way to manage bellfill complications .

One of the doctors who routinely comments on the injections is Jason Emer. He injects the product routinely and frankly has no means of removing it.
If you review old posts, you will find Dr. Brian Windler used to weigh in but he is a paid consultant and frankly full of nonsense.
There is also Dr. Weiner who used to comment but has now completely backed up.
As far as experts to remove it, I am still searching unfortunately.
Good luck to all of us!

Contact Bellafill and file a complaint with the FDA. I plan to contact the American Boards of plastic surgery and Dermotology.
Bellafill doctors have discussed this with my plastic surgeon and recommended a course of treatment despite not talking any responsibility. It is getting better, very slowly.

I reported my issues to Sunevas medical affairs team a week after receiving my injections. They were completely useless. I went as far as reporting my issues directly to the developer of the product, professor Lamperle. None of them were able to offer a solution.
If interested, there is a support group thread on WhatsApp. We are all trying to gather information to solve our Bellafill issues.
