Bellafill Granuloma Warning

Hi everyone, I want to warn/inform anyone thinking about getting Bellafill for their acne scars. I have a small acne scar near the right side of my chin that I wanted to improve. I went to my dermatologist and I was told Bellafill would be a great option as it is long-term solution. I decided to get the filler injected using the smallest amount possible. After the procedure the scar did improve somewhat and was less noticeable. This was 6 years ago....

Fast forward to today: I now have a granuloma where the scar is. Each year I literally could feel the bump getting bigger. I went to a plastic surgeon and he surgically removed the granuloma (see pictures). It was mentioned that this can be a top "side effect" of Bellafill. He explained that my body was attacking the foreign substance in the filler.

I am posting this to let people know that this filler does create nodules and the only real way to remove them is surgical. I hope this helps someone in the future in their choice on what route to take for acne scars.

Thanks
