Wanted the Face of the Person I Felt Like... Not the one for my Age (61) - Tonbridge, Kent

Just over 5 weeks on!!! ????

WORTH IT$10,666
Hi. These pics were taken this morning 5 weeks after Lower Face and Neck lift (CONCEPT ) the last two photos are with concealer around the front of my ears. All healed. No scabs left and all stitches dissolved. Time will help in fading of redness to scars. Trying Bio Oil to massage in daily now. Still numbness and strange feeling around the front of the ears/cheeks. Nerves knitting back in I dare say? Sleeping on sides as normal. No painkillers what so ever and not had any for weeks. ?????????

"Amir is the most approachable surgeon I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I had absolutely no reservations after meeting him. I had watched some of his videos and seen a lot if reviews from his patients and that put me at ease and in no doubt of the procedure I wanted to go ahead with... We chatted during the whole operating procedure along with the nursing team and practice management who were preparing for a filming session that afternoon ..... and the time flew by" extremely relaxed atmosphere. If you have any doubts then DON'T ... you won't need them!"

I think there is a huge difference. People don't comment because you still look like you but better and they would never suppose that you had a facelift. That's for celebrities!
I just asked Amir about broken veins and he said that they are rare and they fade away anyway. I hope that he has something up his sleeve if they don't. Do let me know as this is a concern of mine too. [RS bleep]
Thank you. Yes it is probably true what you say re not noticing. I did not want a wind tunnel look.... just a fresher me ⚘⚘
I will be seeing Amir on Thursday so will keep you posted. Not sure how broken veins can fade away but we will see [RS bleep]
Thanks. I have a friend who had a facelift and she said they faded. x
Actually looking at photos a couple of weeks ago and ones yesterday they look like they are fading :-) xx Have a fab Christmas
And you missP. Thanks for helping me out so much xx
Hiya. You are most welcome. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions and I will try my hardest to answer you [RS bleep]
[RS bleep]
Wow, you look so fantastic!! I'm glad to hear and see that all is going well for you and with that concealer on nobody would ever know! I'm still deliberating but have a provisional appointment for surgery on 2 March, I think I've already told you that! Are you still pleased you went ahead even with your broken veins and your numbness? I guess Amir says that is all normal? I wish I could have your courage to "just do it"
Happy Christmas you lovely lady x
Hi Juliaham
Thank you for your lovely message again. You will not reget your decision. I had no time to worry as had my consultation on 10th October then the op exactly one month later. The broken veins are fading so hopeful they will go altogether? Seeing Amir on 16th Jan for review so will keep you posted. The numbness is not a problem at all really. Any questions you may have please ask... I don't mind at all. Happy Christmas to you too. Hope you have a wonderful time. X
Happy new year x thanks for your reply, how did you get on at your review appointment? You're a great help and inspiration to me and I think I'm going to go ahead on 2nd March! I'll keep in touch with you and let you know x
Hi there. I git a dreadful cold virus so had to cancel my review before Christmas. I am rebooked for 16th January so will keep you posted. I think once you KNOW it's what you want you do the research and go for it. I do not regret it. No one has even an incling I have had it done. Which is what we want although I would like someone to notice! I guess it's such a subtle change as my eyes have not been touched and have been told I look great.... so it's noticeable but not obvious ... so therefore good. Please do keep in touch and I am here if you ever want to chat/have a little advice or anything xx ⚘
Ah thank you MissP61, it's unreal that nobody has noticed because you look fantastic but on the other hand it's a good thing, I'd like that too! How did you manage not letting anyone see your bruised and scabby bits? Did you stay in hiding for a while? Thank you for your help and support I needed in making my decision x. Good luck on the 16th x
Hi Julia
I did not go into hiding.I used concealer and mineral powner to cover bruising. The scabs were around my ears but with my hair over them it was not noticeable. I did not go socialising for the first fee days but was off work for 13 days so that helped. When have you decided to have it done? Xx
Wow that's good, I'm having mine on 2nd March, I just have to confirm and pay my deposit, book a hotel etc. Still petrified but I'm going ahead. Your posts have helped me immensely so thank you very much for your openness and honesty. I'll keep you posted x you look AMAZING!! X
Please don't worry you have nothing to worry about. Amir and his staff are all very friendly and helpful. You will feel at ease and I'm sure you will be thrilled with your results. A friend's daughter commented on NYE saying she thought I was in my late fourties! It was dark ish and she had been drinking .. he he xx definitely keep me posted ⚘⚘
Good luck Julia.
Getting close now. You will be fine. You won't look back either.
Lots of rest after. You will feel great but try to remember it's still a major op to your body. Be kind to yourself. I went through this alone too. Take time for yourself and buy concealer and mineral powder for when you venture out to cover any bruising. Less than conventional FL but you will get some. [RS bleep]
Hi again, are you still thinking this was your best idea? My original plan was to have it done 4 weeks before an important date but I think you said you were still numb at that time and now I am wondering whether I should either postpone until after event. Grateful for your thoughts. X
Thanks MissP61, I'm kinda looking forward to it now in a weird way! I'd really like it over with hee hee! Still scared and all that but you have definitely put my mind at rest and in a way, made it up for me. I got my concealer and mineral powder today, pain killers and a hair band in case I get caught off my guard hee hee. Hopefully we can stay in touch and compare notes. I've booked 2 weeks off work so hopefully not noticeable by the time I go back. How is everything with you now? Your photos look wonderful and everything seems to be healing nicely [RS bleep]
Hi. The numbness will stay for some time, so cannot see the point in delaying it for that reason? Numbness is may stay? X
I am now 4 months post opp - very pleased - still experiencing a certain amount of numbness but no big deal and it is gradually returning to normal. Dr Amir is an excellent surgeon.
Yes indeed elizabetho5 it is worth numbness for the end result to be good. So glad you are happy and 4 months down the line. I am just over 2 months post op so a way to go as yet ... ⚘
Hi Julia
Thank you for your message. Glad I could help. This is a great platform to find things out on and compare experiences on too.
The concealer and minets powder are a great thing to have once scabs have gone (although fab for the bruises before that!) Yes healing is progressing well. I had 12 days off work and it was just right ... so 2 weeks will be great for your healing process. Xx Not ong to wait now.
Hello MissP61 - I am male, so could you tell me what concealer & mineral powder to look for in the shops please as I haven't a clue about these. Thank you! Also, I read people mentioning scabs - are these akin to those that we find after grazing one's knee/shin and the blood along the graze dries to form small dark bits which if picked off will cause fresh bleeding beneath? Are there such scabs all along the incision lines in the early days after the concept FL, coz they'd be dark and may need hiding, correct?
Hi Leep.
Thank you for your message. The best concealer I have used is one from primary! It's in a tube with makeup and a mirror on top. 2 -in- 1 'warm beige' not much needed. Mineral is either Super Drug 'Gosh' 4 then down to a 2. Or L'I real True Match N3 Beige cream/ Creamy Beige. Great coverage for the bruises. Scabs are as you state. No not on all of scar. Do not remove until at least a week or two. I just let then drop off to be honest. Shower and wash your hair from the next day. Good luck. When is your op?
Should have read PRIMARK not Primary? Same with L'Oreal sorry. Predictive text.
I did not use on scabs by the way. Once all have dropped off you can conceal the pink scars.
Hi. You can buy the concealer on its own from Primark I just got some.
Thank you so much MissP61 for these helpful tips and pointers to the products! Now I will know where to go, and also what product to look for, as I am a stranger to makeup products till now. Also, thank you for telling me that the scabs do not appear all along the incision lines but only on some portions of the lines as that has reassured me a great deal. And yes, I will obey not to pick at the scabs until they fall off naturally - want the eventual scar to be as good as possible. I think it will be something to look forwards to, being able to take a shower and wash hair from the day following surgery. He said to just let the shampoo and water run over the incision sites, without touching/disturbing them especially when towelling. Oh and to only wash hair standing in shower, never to bend forwards over sink to wash hair! I will be seeing the Dr on Mon 13 Feb for the 2nd time to ensure that we both have a mutual understanding of the appropriate expectations, before going onwards to surgery but I am eager to be free of the baggy jawline and web of skin on my neck soon! So glad that you have been so satisfied with your recovery AND your fab results. You've made it past 2 months already, so well done to you!
Thank you for your lovely message. I am so pleased I could help. Indeed only wash your hair as instructed and don't bend over forwards (for anything!) Just pat the op area dry very gently and dry hair on a lower heat than normal for a little while. Obviously the shade of concealer etc depends on your shade of complexion of course. Good luck and keep in touch. I presume you are seeing Amir for your surgery? Tell him 'Hi' from Polly. Take care.
Hello missp 61 you look fab.Hoping to have concept with neck, upper eyes and lipo on neck in April.Feel very nervous and guilty as it is a lot of money Doing it for me.My question is did you have bad bruising in neck and we're stitches very obvious. I will go back to work after 2 weeks and will have to work with my hair up.would appreciate any advice.did you use concealer?.
Hi. My photos show the extent of bruising. Having hair up after two weeks will show the scars I'm afraid. Concealer on the scars until healed is not a good idea as infection is possible. I have used concealer and mineral powder to hide scars since has been good. You can conceal bruising however. I had 12 days off and was able to go with my hair down. I do kow wear my hair up with no problems at all. DON'T feel guilty for doing this for YOURSELF xx ⚘
Thank you so much for your quick response. Your thread has been very helpful.xx
Hi aangelgirl67 you are very welcome and so glad my review has helped. Xx ⚘⚘
You look great, you really do, but I have a but... ...it's a but that may not bother you but would be a deal breaker for me. I don't like the lazy way he does the suture line behind the ear. I guess it is fine if you never wear your hair up or never cut your hair short or wear glasses (digging into the scar), but as scars are unpredictable it's something that I'd not be happy with. Did Amir tell you that he would cut like this, or give you options? I'm glad I went with someone who takes time to properly hide the suture line far more (but he does charge more, and that is possibly why because it is extra work). For comparison (in case you wonder what I'm rattling on about), my scars go right up the crease of my ear and into my hairline. https://www.realself.com/review/london-uk-facelift-time-bray-babe#media-entry-608445-image-1338960 I do hope that you are happy though because that is the most important thing and you honestly do look great and you are far faster at healing that me (which I'm totally envious of)!
Really? You feel the need to write this comment on someone's post that is clearly happy with Amir's work! Seems to me like your working for another surgeon who is jealous of Amir's success. If it's a deal breaker for you, then go with who your happy with, no need to write a negative comment then promote another surgeon. Troll springs to mind
No, as I said I think she looks great but I'm curious about the explanation of the scarring and suture line behind the ears. When I saw the line I realised why people had been asking about where my incisions run. I don't know if Amir gives options on where the scar runs, hence my question. I see you had work done with him too, how is your suture line behind your ears?
Amir's surgery does not change the person's ears,so no pixie, no funny ear position, no ears sown on to the cheeks or the neck. No visible scars in the front either. I have been lurking for so long and I am yet to see somebody without visible scarring behind the ears. I think the front bit and the shape and position of the ears is the deal maker for me.
I had my lift months ago and wear my hair up all the time, the scars are nearly gone already. I love the way he's done around my ears, no one can tell that I've had any surgery. I have nothing but admiration for the man! Each to there own though, some people are happy with other surgeons which is fine.
So so true Byebabe my thoughts precisely. Each to their own but I would never dream of 'knocking' a surgeon I have not used. I am so happy with my ears ... you just cannot see the scarring. The ones behind my ears will fade in time too. There is nothing unnatural about my ears at all. So pleased you are also pleased BieneMiya. That is all we want surely. Could I see pictures of yours please? As cannot find any? Thank you.
Hi iwillsucceedmydreams. We are very happy with results as they are. I could not see how we would have the results we have without the scars we have ... along the way. Fronts of the ears (which everyone sees?) are amazing. The rear scars will fade in time too. Happy is the word I choose and know you do too. Xx Pleases you are also happy BieneMaya xx
I meant 'sewn'.
BieneMaya I forgot to add. I wear glasses (lenses too) had no problems with the scars and my glasses? Each surgeon works differently. The cost has NOTHING to do with the matter. It is just not good to be critical of one surgeon's work if you have never used them. I have not seen any negative comments on Amir's work so far... by people who have actually had work done by him that is ?
I had a concept facekift and necklift with Dr Amir and I am
extremely pleased at 3 months now. Scars behind ears hardly visible to anyone else unless they know and scrutinise them and in front of ears fabulous. I am very happy indeed.
Hi elizabetho5. So pleased to hear you are very happy with the surgery you had with Amir. Happy is how we should be after such surgery. X ⚘
Thank you. I agree 100 per cent. I am 68 and it has given me so much mote confidence - gone the dreaded turkey neck and jowls!
Best wishes x
You are very welcome Elizabeth. Best wishes to you too x⚘
Well said!
Thanks for your input aangelgirl67 ⚘
Seriously you look amazing.Best of luck, your doing great.
Thank you so much. Good luck too. Keep in touch ⚘
look that's just rubbish. this site is a discussion forum to critically evaluate surgeons! why can you only be critical of a surgeon youve been too if you think you can spot some kind of error ie in this case the scars? it doesnt make sense; real self isnt a dinner party where manners are paramount. surgeons are here on show and on trial. and also, last point, if you think that price has nothing to do with skills at scar concealment, then im sorry but youre totally wrong!
Thank you for your comments Zchluck I fully appreciate your opinions. I was not saying people cannot say what they want? I just can't see why someone who has not had surgery wirh a particular surgeon cold possibly be in a position to criticise that person. Each to their own and as long as the recipient is happy then why try to make them feel bad by derogatory comments? Take care and good luck to you. You are totally free to have your opinion. As we all are.
Had to cancel my follow up as not too well at the moment with fluish virus. Made it for 16th Jan so will keep you posted re veins fading. Take care and have a fabulous Christmas and New Year's Eve [RS bleep]
I hope you get better soon. Have a love Christmas and a great New Year! Xx
Thank you. You too [RS bleep]
How was your follow up? Are you still numb a little? Did your surgeon explain to you about the veins? Thanks! You look absolutely beautiful! X
Hi Stacylove2
My follow ups have been great. Always see me when ever I had a query. The veins were explained last week on follow up. I had been unable to make my last two appointments. Yes still very numb in front of ears on upper checks/temple areas. You are very welcome. Thank you xx ⚘
Thanks. Does the numbness bother you, or do you only feel it if you touch it? X
Hiya. Only feel it if I touch the area... not a problem really. How are you? Xx
Hiya. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy new year to you [RS bleep] Look forwatd to a great new face for 2017 ;-) xx ⚘

Four weeks on from FL and NL Op and feeling pretty good and healing well

It is just four weeks ago I had my Concept FL and NL. Healing well and feeling less stretched and tight. Ear discomfort is waning away now too. NO pain relief for about two and a half weeks now and sleeping on my side as normal. I have got concerns re broken veins next to my ear lobes... one worse than the other. I am seeing Amir in a couple of weeks and hoping they fade or get advised as to what can be done? Wearing coverstick on the area which i never use normally. Happy with the results although no one has actually said anything to me. Friends comment and say my hair is looking great and say I am looking really 'well' so it's a subtle difference and maybe they think I look different but don't know why ????.....

Hi Miss P - I think you look fantastic. I compared your Before and Afters and the difference is quite remarkable . . . but also totally natural. I think the best results on Real Self are from women whose friends can't quite put their finger on the change. Subtle - but beautiful. I think you look at least 15 years younger. Congrats!
Aaawwww thank you so much. I feel much better when I catch a glimpse in the mirror when I'm not smiling. As when I smiled it never looked bad. It was when my face was relaxed that I looked so miserable! Yet I'm not at all that way. It encourages others if they see honest results. Not one of my friends or family have said anything... apart from a couple saying how well I look, I had not seen them in a while. It is encouraging to read others comments on my photos. Thank you again ⚘
Hi MissP61 - i know exactly what you mean about looking miserable and angry when the face is at rest (when we're not actively smiling and raising the face). Mine is the same. Its because the angles of the mouth are dragged downwards by the downward direction of the facial tissues (cheeks & jowls). Now you've had those tissues repositioned to their rightful place in a more upward position, you don't have to smile and raise the face in order to banish the miserable look of the at-rest face anymore. Everyone looks younger and happier when the tissues are not in the wrong position. Its like someone came overnight and put back all the chairs & tables correctly in an orderly position!! You now look wonderful!! I am going to consult Amir on 22 Dec - getting excitied already!
Wow... are you going to see him? I am also seeing Amir on the 22nd so may see you there if the same time? I was never nervous at all. He has the virtual experience now which he didn’t have before my op. You will be able to see the results and tweet them, which I wish I could have seen before hand too. ⚘
Hi leep....Tweek not tweet! :-)
MissP61 my appointment is at 6pm on 22 Dec
Hi there, I'm admiring your pictures, wow, you look amazing and a lot younger, well done for going through with it. I have been to see Amir and have a provisional appointment date with him for a concept face lift and neck lift on 2nd March! It's terrifying for me but I need to do this for me. If you can give me any advise I would love to hear from you. Many thanks in advance. x
Hi Juliaham Thank you so much for your lovely message and compliments. I can answer and questions you have so please ask. X You will be happy with your results I'm sure ⚘
Hi there. Noticed your post on a facelift. I had a lower fl and necklift too. My results are outstanding and really pain free experience. I'm delighted with my new profile and feel that it's made me look a lot younger. Please feel free to look me up. Good luck.
Hi we have spoken a few times. You are having the lip line filler Vorbella? You were going to keep me up to date when you have it done. ⚘
Hi there my girlfriend. I was scheduled for tomorrow but I had to push it back to next Wednesday. I PROMISE to post on Realself asap!!! You're my overseas friend. Omg. I'd never let you down. Hugs!!!!!
Aawwww that's a shame you had to reschedule. Cannot wait to see your results. Close ups please :-) Big hugs back at you ....
Yes, Of course I'll do close ups for you! :-). Have a lovely week. Looking forward to your comments on my new vertical line less lips
I am looking forward to seeing your results too ⚘
I am there around 4.30pm so sadly won't see you. Good luck and keep in touch ⚘
Hi there!!!!! Just wondering how you are doing?? Have you any recent plastic surgery procedures? Are you all healed from your previous surgery?? I saw your comments recently on someone's review, and thought about you :-). I just had a Lip Lift and I'm soooooo pleased. It's funny how we women find things that we can "fix" and feel so much better!! Love to hear from you, and hope you're doing well , my lovely Realself friend! ❤️❤️

10 day review with Amir :-) ??

Just got back from seeing Amir for a review, ten days on from my op. Everything is going well and the front of ears are almost 'scab' free and healed. Amazed at the results so far. Have a look and see what you think?

Thanks for keeping us posted. You look gorgeous. And I must repeat: lovely ears. X
Thanks Byebabe sweet of you. I feel great. Reviews help others decide what to do and with whom X ⚘⚘
You look great. You're a fast healer!!!
Thanks hunny. I am but the procedure helps too :-) ⚘
Wow Mis P61 your incision sites at 10days postop look really really great. What wonderful healing speed from you and immaculately delicate stitchwork from Dr Amir indeed. I have made up my mind to consult Dr Amir. I consulted Dominic Bray 18 months ago, and last month consulted Dr David Harley in North Carolina as he too performs face surgery with local anaesthetic only. May I please ask you if Dr Amir made any incision right under your chin i.e. did he work on the platysma muscle from under chin? Dr Harley's Biltmore Lift includes an incision there, but maybe not in Dr Amir's Concept Lift. (You see I'm still at the choosing surgeon stage). Many thanks MissP61.
Hi leep. Many thanks for your lovely message. I did not need an incision under my chin so Amir did the 'Concept Facelift' and Neck Lift at the same time. Usually the under chin scar is from liposuction of the under chin area I believe? I am thrilled with the quick healing which is also due to the way Amir does his surgery, as well as healing well. I do hope you see Amir as he is a very approachable guy. Funny and puts you totally at ease each time you see him. It is definitely a procedure I would recommend. I researched it for some time. This was the one for me definitely. Many thanks again. MissP61
Do pretty and so young looking now!!
Aaawwww thank you for your lovely comment. ⚘⚘
You really look beautiful
Thank you so much for your lovely message. Are you looking to have anything done soon? Were you pleased with the lip implants? ⚘⚘
