Just about 2 weeks have passed and I'm still here :)

Hello yet again!
It's (almost) officially been 2 weeks! It feels like it was ages ago that I was nervously sitting on a train in Belgium on the way to my appointment.
I'm still happy with my more modest size. The only thing that I can nitpick is my lack of cleavage - but, I already knew beforehand that I wasn't going to have the dream cleavage due to my anatomy (narrow BWD and pretty wide set). If my PS had been able to fit in a larger size, I would have just ended up with more sideboob and not that much more cleavage. Ah well, we can't all have it all. I just hope that once everything is settled and softer, that the right bra can give me the oomph when I want the oomph.
Speaking of bras, I tried on a few for fun a few days ago. I went to Bravissimo, and I let the lady working know that I had recently had surgery ... and afterwards, she seemed to act awkward around me. Maybe it was all in my head. Either way, I know breast implants aren't everyone's cup of tea. Anyways, at the moment, I'm measuring around 30E/28F ... but, my breasts weren't sitting right in the bra. So, maybe once I'm 'squishier' and settled, I'll go down a size. Or maybe up. Who knows?! Maybe I'll start a betting pool. But, that definitely showed me how wrong the size I was wearing prior to surgery was. I always just grabbed the smallest size available, and most high street shops only stock down to a size 32A ... maybe I actually needed a 30B/28C. Bit late now, though!
I'm back to work on Tuesday - I'm not looking forward to it! I work in an analysis lab, and while a lot of the day is sat in front of the computer, a lot is also spent on my feet with lots of arm movement and some lifting. I'm still hesitant about lifting anything more than my handbag at the moment, so hopefully I can make do without anyone noticing that I'm not 'lifting my weight' anymore, so to speak. :)

POD 11 and all is well so far :)

Time for another update as I've fallen off the the face of the internet the last few days!

Recovery has been pretty straightforward so far, I thankfully haven't had any complications or concerns. More swelling has gone down and the pain is gone. Still a teensy bit of morning boob and some twinges here and there - but overall, I'm feeling pretty normal with just a bit of soreness!

A few months ago, I had surgery on my shoulder to remove some old, problematic metalwork and in the process they had shave my clavicle bone down to almost nothing ... so I am feeling a bit more pain on that side than the other in my shoulder. That's to be expected, though, as that bone still hasn't 'grown' back all the way and the implant is likely putting a bit of extra stress on it. It's a soreness I can deal with, but just hope it isn't chronic! (That's why I had the darn metalwork removed in the first place!)

Anywho, it's my husband and I's second wedding anniversary today so we're headed out to do a bit of celebrating. I think he definitely deserves it - He's been so outstanding at taking care of me/changing my dressings/clipping my stitches/whatever I need!

I also might pop my head into a lingerie store just to try on some bras for fun and get a rough idea of what size I'll be. Obviously, things are still going to change and I'm not going to buy anything - but I just thought it'd be fun to try on some bras that aren't a sports bra.

That's all for now, I'll try to get some updated pictures in the next few days. :)

Before :( and after - POD4

I know how much more helpful a review is with pictures, and being that I used this site so much in this process ... here we go!

My dreaded before pictures (you can see how narrow my breast base is:( ) and a few after from this morning - POD4.

I'm still pretty swollen, but a fair bit of my sternum swelling went away since yesterday - yippee! Now it's just yellow, bruised, and only a bit puffy. Sides are still fairly swollen. The pain has been almost non-existent this morning (besides morning boob, of course). The first few days after surgery, I had to do lots of walking and traveling ... so I think having just one day yesterday of sitting around and doing NOTHING has helped loads. But, now I'm feeling a bit of the cabin fever and need to get out ... lest I turn into Jack Nicholson a la The Shining - and my husband probably doesn't want that.

Any who, that's all for now! :)

So far, I've had a great experience with Dr. O. He's very realistic and blunt about what can be achieved and seems to prefer a more natural aesthetic - which is exactly what I was aiming for. The clinic was located near Antwerpen, so I had an easy time taking the Eurostar from London and reaching the clinic. The clinic itself was clean and comfortable. Consultations take place in London, although you may struggle at first to hear back about an appointment - be patient! :)
