Extra pic to show where bone grew back and after filing

Update and slight revision

Hi everyone

Haven't been on here for so long as since my first surgery I am no longer obsessed with my nose. It has become a feature on my face rather than an all consuming obsession. As you know I done my op with Dr Medawar who I hold in high regard. My nose was improved and despite no one noticing, I view this as the result of an excellent surgeon rather than a waste of money. My changes have been slight but the psychological effect to my life has been huge. It's the best feeling to look in the mirror and see your whole face rather than being fixated on one thing.

Anyway the major thing I wanted changing was the tip which Dr Medawar has fixed successfully for me. The swelling has all but reduced on my tip (maybe a bit more to go) and I am happy with the result here.

As it was a flat fee, I had the slightest bump on my ridge which despite it not being a major concern for me, I thought well if I'm paying might as well remove so it's perfectly straight. Not long after the operation I started noticing a bump where it had not been before. The minimal shaving Dr Medawar had done as I'd asked instead resulted in my new nose growing new bone/cartilage to protect it from the trauma of the operation. So yeah, I was left with a bigger bump than I had before. It wasn't grotesque by any means as was small to begin with but emailed medawar to see what he thought as I did want it to be straight.

Dr medawar as always was great by what's app'ed and advised to leave to see if just swelling. At the 6 month mark though there was no reduction so Dr Medawar advised that we can file.

I have logged back on here today not only to let everyone know an update, but also to sing my doctors praises. I booked to go to Lebanon over New Year's Eve (for reasons other than my nose) and was disappointed to find out that the surgery wasn't available for the dates I was there. Anyway, Dr Medawar managed to sort this out and worked a day that he was meant to be off, along with his staff just so they could do it for me. I felt so guilty when waiting whilst they prepared the room as they had all forfeited some of their day for me, but was also soooooo grateful that they went above and beyond to make sure they could do. Thank you Dr Medawar and team for working New Year's Eve morning for me!!!!!!!!!!!!! Xxxx

Anyway so all great! I'm about to change tape (one more week to wear) so taking opportunity to take some pics of my perfect nose :). I'm always scared to say it's great as you never know as it changes with time.....but right now, and i imagine going forward, I have the most beautiful nose in the world (to me anyway).

Happy new year everyone and highly recommend my doctor. Will do another post in couple of months to show you the finished product :)

3 week update

Hi everyone

I'm having a really bad nose day. I loved my nose when my cast came off, it was beautiful....but as the days are passing, it's looking more and more like my old nose. Is this still swelling? The Dr said it is when I sent him pics last week and I believe him. My tip is still sore to touch so presume it is. My bridge doesn't hurt at all now though and feels like bone?

I'm guessing I just want to hear from some people who felt the same way to get me encouraged again. I really hope it is just swelling and it goes back to how it looks when the cast came off. Read about this post surgery depression thing and think maybe I'm just having a particularly bad day. Xxxx

Prior to surgery I messaged him and he came back with prompt reply and advised my request for changes were reasonable. Only took bandage off two days ago but so far I'm super happy with the results. Dr Medawar is a very able doctor who was reassuring and has, by what I can see so far, done my nose exactly the way I asked for it. Would highly recommend.
