Rhinoplasty with Dr. Charbel Medawar... The Best Decision I've Ever Made - Beirut, LB

I underwent rhinoplasty on the 24th of November 2015 after years of being self conscious about my nose. I always felt that it was unflattering and out of proportion. I chose Dr. Charbel Medawar because a friend of mine had seen him and I loved the look of her new nose. I can now also say I love the look of my new nose too! It's exactly what I wanted! Charbel is not just a cosmetic surgeon, he's an artist and a magician. I was very apprehensive in the lead up to the surgery as it was my face I was changing after all. I don't live in Lebanon so I couldn't see Charbel until the day before the surgery when I was finally there. In the lead up to the trip I had sent him numerous pictures of my nose and the results I desired. He assured me that this was achievable. When I finally met him the day before the surgery we went over exactly what I wanted to achieve and how it will be done. After this consult I felt so relaxed and confident as I could tell he was an expert and I'd made sure he knew exactly how I wanted my new nose to look. He took all of this into consideration and also what will flatter best with the rest of my face. Now when I look in the mirror (at the risk of sounding arrogant) I think I have the perfect nose! It's petite and in proportion. Charbel removed the large bridge that I used to have resulting in a much sleeker profile and shortened the tip making my face look a lot more feminine than it used to. Although my nose has changed, my family and friends say that I don't look totally different, I just look better.
The pain after the surgery was minimal. I can't assume that this will be the case for everyone but for me I felt like I've had far worse hangovers than this surgery! The discomfort was prominent for a solid week but I ensured that I had no responsibilities for a week other than healing and catching up with Netflix.
I stayed in the private clinic for about 24 hours following the procedure. I mostly just slept as I was groggy from the antibiotics. I can't say that the nurses bedside manner was the greatest. There was definitely a communication barrier as they only spoke French and Arabic. If you are considering travelling to Beirut and cannot speak either of these languages please keep this in mind. Fortunately I had a very smooth experience, however I cannot be sure that if you needed further assistance that the nurses would understand fully if you only spoke in English. I went with a friend who also had surgery on the same day with Charbel. If you do travel to Beirut make sure you have a loved one with you for the stay.
When the cast and stitches were removed after a week I could straight away see the huge improvement from my profile view. My nose from front on looked very swollen the for at least another week but by the 4-6 week mark I could really start to see the final result. Patience is a definitely a virtue when it comes to rhinoplasty as everyday it changed shape in the initial few weeks. Now I'm at my 9 week mark and absolutely thrilled with the result!
I highly recommend Charbel Medawar to anyone who is unhappy with their nose. His work has given me a new found confidence that I cannot thank him enough for.
