6 weeks post op and the scars and bruising are...

6 weeks post op and the scars and bruising are very present still. I had necrosis of both nipples at 4 weeks post op and panicked, so I consulted a new surgeon. The experience has so far been a very painful and unpleasant one. Swelling has drastically increased, right nipple is going darker still although my second surgeon Said the necrosis stopped. I can't wait for the wounds to dry and the scars to heal and don't know what to expect as an outcome. They are not symmetrical, one is significantly larger and the nipples are a bit too high, even the shape doesn't feel right as they are looking angular and distorted.

Oh, I am so sorry this has happened to you!! I pray you find a surgeon that can help you! What did the surgeon who performed your surgery say in regards to this?

Thank you, I am followed closely by a new surgeon who recommended letting the scars dry out now. So I am not applying anything on the wounds right now. The surgeon who performed the surgery didn't warn me nor worry when the wounds started to leak and bleed. I inmidiately consulted someone else because he wasn't professional. It all happened very fast...

I'm glad to hear you're in better, capable hands!

Sorry to hear about your necrosis, the surgeons always warn about this but we never think it will happen to us. Did you have to have additional surgery or just the antibx. as for the shape it really is too early to judge, they say it takes many months for them to settle into their real shape. Hang in there.. pun intended.

Thank you, necrosis happened very fast but luckily was superficial. I treated it with wet saline gauze, changing the dressing twice daily as recommended by my new doctor. He did not recommend antibiotics, but I took one course of Augmentin that together with the pain killers gave me excruciating stomach pain. Necrosis hopefully stopped, it created scabs that are already falling off for some or sticking to the gauze for others. I am still worried and check the colour of my nipples several times a day.

Don't stress too much... 6 weeks is still very early stages, the wounds will heal and the tissue will begin to form a more natural shape, i would give it a good 6 months before making proper judgement. Sometimes the original shape pre-op can effect the results also (if breast was more rounded etc). Do you have any pre-op photos for comparison?

Thank you, I hope they will heal fine. Unfortunately I don't have a before photo. I had a major reduction with 500 gr removed from left breast and 600 gr removed from right breast. I went from being a 36 G/F or more correctly 32 H to a 36 C. The original breast were very saggy empty from top part and rounded on the bottom. So it was a reduction with self lift. No implants. On the right breast stitches are coming out of the skin now, each time creating abscess, which is not helping the healing at all. I can't wait till scars are completely dry and healed... The shape and symmetry will be a later concern I guess.

Two months post op ugly scars left by open wounds

I went to buy a bra and found out I am a 34 DDD to my despair. I used to be a 36 DDD pre op. The only good thing about the surgery is the lift. If I knew the size wouldn't drastically change I wouldn't have done it or at least I would HAVE chosen a different doctor. I was aiming to be a 34 C. I tried to buy a bikini which was impossible. I couldn't find my size. Anyways I don't feel like going to the beach. On both breasts nipple are too high. they are still swollen and lower scar and nipple area are still sensitive to touch and sore. I just started using Cicalfate from Avene.

Right breast is significantly larger than left and nipple is higher too. i now have to wait and see for at least 8 months post op to judge the result.

I started going to the gym and feeling better. Finally the swelling decreased. I also lost weight. The right oreola likes to pup out of my bikini top although I went only once to the beach after buying a ridiculously expensive swimming suit because nothing fits me! The scars are healing and turning purple. I don't know what to do about that. I got palmers healing oil that I am not applying regularly. I don't see the difference between the two sides except in the photos. When I do see it, I get worried because I wouldn't like to revise the surgery by another one after I suffered all through a complicated recovery. What do you think of the symmetry?

One is def smaller than the other. The nipple placement seems awfully high. So sorry for all your troubles....

Nipple are so high it's embarrassing. They pop out of the bra and the swimming suit, I can wear huge décolleté because they will pop out of the dress or the top that I am wearing, like if I bend. I really feel stigmatized by the surgeon, even though I am happy with the size.

They look fine enough to me!!
