I decided to get my teeth whitened in anticipation...
I decided to get my teeth whitened in anticipation of a wedding that I was in coming up. Found a groupon for a highly recommended dentist in a wealthy town nearby and booked the appointment. The tech performed the entire procedure, and said usually they do 3 15 minute sessions but that if I could handle it and wanted spectacular results I could do a 4th session. My teeth were already the whitest natural shade when she compared them to the display and said that with the 4 sessions my teeth would be sparkling white and perfect. Opted for the 4th session. She explained the zings and said a Tylenol would help, but that they weren't that bad. I'm heavily tattooed, can sit for 5+ hours when getting work done and I'm fine. I've had kidney stones. I feel like I can handle pain pretty well when needed. So she does the 4 sessions and I didn't have any pain at all. As she was rinsing my mouth out after the last round, I experienced my first zing and Jesus did it throw me for a loop. I figured now that I knew what was coming I could prepare for it and I'd be fine. Took some Tylenol and went on my way. I didn't see any difference in my teeth being whiter and was pretty bummed out. The tech said some teeth just don't whiten that well with zoom and that I was lucky my teeth were already pretty white. Experienced another zing on the way home. The next 15 hours were the worst hours of my life. I seriously can't understand how people didn't have a problem with the zingers. They started coming one after another, and had me laying on the couch crying from the pain. It honestly felt like someone lit the nerves in my teeth on fire, and then decided to smash the tooth with a sledgehammer on top of that. The minute one would stop, another 2 would start. After taking some Motrin PM and passing out, I woke up every 10 minutes from the pain. The next day was better, teeth were still sensitive but no zingers. I was terrified to drink anything cold or do anything to set off my teeth. I'm now scared to go to my own dentist, as I never had a problem with getting them cleaned and after this zoom experience I don't want anyone near my mouth at all. It's been 2 1/2 months since I got it done, and I decided today I would go back to my crest white strips and see how it went. They were on for less than 10 minutes before I got another full on zinger. Why is this happening again? I never had sensitivity to the strips until after the zoom. I figured it's been enough time for my enamel to be back to normal. This sucks. I 100% do NOT recommend Zoom Whitening.

Was nice but wish I was more informed about the procedure not working for everyone.
