5 Days Post Op and drains removed

Charolive
$8,700
I had my first post op appointment today and everything is healing well, no infections so the dr removed the drains. Boy was that interesting. I had upper ab lipo so the drains were all the way up there,so I would say that's 6-12 inches of tubes. When he cut the stiches holding them in place it stung, then he pulled them out. I felt them come all the way out, not a lot of pain, more discomfort and weirdness. Afterwards, I just thought "wow". Anyway it's water under the bridge now.

I can now shower and the Dr said I should start standing up as the body allows.

I am doing good. Wish it's didn't feel so tight to stand up and I am very achy from the lipo. All and all pretty good, started working from home last Monday, have been cooking, , cleaning, driving, etc for the past couple of days, just at a slower pace. It's killing me. I go for another follow up in Monday. Think I may head back to the office on Tuesday even though I'd prefer not. How about you?

Oh gosh, you ARE a trooper! How did you manage to do all that? Do you still take any pain med? Today is the first day I got up made grilled cheese sandwiches for my kids... My house is mess... I haven't been able to stand up straight yet, any driving is not even an option... I'm so envious that your DR took out the drains so early. Mines are still on until this Wednesday, for no real good reason, it's just the way he does things... Take care and please keep us posted... :-)

3 days Post Op

Charolive
I am 3 days post op and feeling much better than yesterday, not that it was terrible but it was harder and more painful to move around.

I am stilling taking my medicine cocktails like clockwork. I discovered that my phone has a timer. Works pretty good...

My 1st post op appointment is Monday and will have to wait until then to see my results. Draining my drains make me queezy and I just can't venture to take his CG off. I am getting a little sleepy. Did a little more walking and really haven't been so hungry so going to take a happy nap! Until later.

Day of treatment

I made it!!! 3 hours Post Op

Charolive
I made it and I am home in my comfy bed, eating some soup since it's time for the meds.

Oh no my mom is making me laugh!!! Not excruciating pain but discomfort. my mom is continuing to set up my recovery area and she looks stressed out... Nurse said she was a nervous nelly.

When Dr arrived he marked me up and I met with the Anesthesiologist . He asked some questions and brought me to the OR. He strapped me up to the table put on all the monitoring devices and IV and told me to think of a place I'd like to be, I said Hawaii- he started taking about the water but the was all she wrote and I was out.

I remember waking up and going to recovery but not the walk. Within 45 minutes I woke up with a terrible headache and I was a little nauseous. Also some minor burning sensation around incision area. Within 30mins I was up and going to the bathroom. headache was from dehydration, so I had a bottle of water and a pretzel. I had to rest after the trip to bathroom since the headache was not good. We were ready to go about 20 mins later. Total if 6 hours from arrival to leaving. Surgery start at 730 and was finished at 10:30-10:45.

Got out of car and walked into the house with litte help. Since I was already in my jammies, I went straight into my rented hospital bed. So happy I got this bed.

Oh yeah they mentioned something about taking 2, 2 liter bottles of fat and the hanging skin of course. My 1st post op appointment is Monday, so won't be able to see anything until then. How could I have forgotten about....

I'm so surprised they sent you home same day. My reading talks about blood clot risks, and that is why they keep most tummy tuckers overnight. There is no way I could have stomached a drive home the same day.
