BREAKING BAD
$1,300
These photos show before (right) and after (left )taken on 8/10/2016 so its been just over two months since I had my peel done.
As you can see my skin is still a lot smoother than before but my gosh I'm breaking out everywhere!!!!! I can't use anything on my face that i used to use to keep my acne at bay so my skin has gone really down hill. Feels like I'm just going to go around in a circle and get more scars :(
But...these photos do show some difference still so its not all bad.
I would advice not to get a peel if your acne is still very much active like mine! As I still feel like my skin is awful and it really affects my confidence.
Roll on December when I can finally use my normal face wash and masks!

The difference
Here are pictures before and 7 days after the deep chemical peel. I can see a little bit of a difference, so there has been a slight impact :)

Thank you so much for sharing! I plan to have a deep chemical peel when I have my TT & BL in a week & a half. Your post is the ONE that I have seen and gives me a realistic expectation of the healing process. You Are beautiful!

Glad to help! It's something I found hard to find so wanted to do something to help others :) and thanks! Takes pain to be beautiful haha good luck with your peel! xx

It looks really good!! Can I ask how much it cost for you to get that procedure done?

August 5, 2016
Thanks! I've had it done at a BMI hospital and altogether including the consultation, test patch, chemical peel and check up its cost me just over £1300!!! But that's private healthcare for you ey! Hopefully worth it! x

Hi, I'm also in the UK and considering a deep peel. What type of peel was this? From googling him it looks like TCA is probably the deepest he does. I'll be really interested to hear how much improvement you think it has made. At present i'm thinking of seeing Kieren Bong in Glasgow as he does phenol peels. Thanks.

Hi! I actually don't know, sorry! I know he used two different chemical percentages on my skin though. I know all he does is deep and doesn't do anything less.
Erm at the mo people have said my skin looks a lot brighter and I'm confident enough not wearing make up at the moment so I guess it's made quite a difference but the main scars I wanted gone are still there, will see in December once the collagen has got to work.
I also know what my skin looks like under makeup so will post a pic to show the difference in coverage soon (normally I have to layer it) X

Thanks. That's interesting. I 'll definitely try and get a consult with him then. Please keep us updated how your skin responds. I'm mainly looking at crows feet and lip lines and maybe even to sort out hyper pigmentation from a botched TCA peel by Dr Inglefield.

I researched that the TCA is considered a medium peel so it must be phenol, but I'll ask when I have my next consultation, I'll do an update when it gets to 1 month and every month that follows X

Aaaaw you look lovely and there is an improvement. But I think you would benefit from dermaneedling for the pitted scars. As you know there are lots of different types of acne scar and how they are anchored within the skin determines how they fill out. Dermaneedling tends to tear the anchors and allow the skin to start healing evenly. In general I have really found it useful on chicken pock scars that I had as it has softened them a lot. I tried home rollers - rubbish, dermapen at a clinic - £200 a pop - also rubbish, then after research bought a Derminator device from the US for a couple of hundred quid. Unlike other rollers it doesn't tear the skin and doesn't hurt like mad. It's a machine so it goes at the speed and depth you set it to and goes to work. I have used it once a month for a year and my skin is thicker, smoother and my nasty hyperpigmentation patches are lighter. Woooop woooop. Just a thought for anyone wanting to get at deeper scars or just to rejuvenate the skin.

I'll see how my skin is in December, results take months to show and it's made me poor so won't be buying into anything soon.

LOL I don't blame you! Fingers crossed it keeps getting better. Makes me want to do a peel, I used to do my own at home. The highest I did was a 30% TCA and jessners, but it hurt like crazy I scared myself after it! But I had been doing at home peels for a few years. I do love this site but goodness the doctors all say different things! I searched peels for acne and they all conflict LOL.

Wow really? I'd like to do home stuff but I don't trust myself ha and yeah everyone has different opinions best just to go talk to someone, he suggested laser treatment but I was dead set on the peel and he was sure I'd still get a good result as before lasers he said he loved peels! X

Dear Steph would you mind telling me if you are happy with your results by now?
I have lots of acne scars that really bothers me since I was a teenager and I always wanted to do something about them.
Your review has really inspired me and I just wonder how do you feel about it now.
Thank you so much for sharing it with us you are great!

Hi! Well it's only been 2 weeks since I've had it done, personally I haven't seen much change but I've had loads of comments on how good my skin looks! Also a skin peel is one of those treatments where you have to wait for the true results, between now and September my skin will still be healing so just got to wait it out, I'm happy it's made some difference but u still have a lot of scaring, so am having to wait and see what happens with them! X

Thank you for replaying it's probably just a matter of time, I believe.
May I ask you, the doctor who you had it done with is Dr Saqib Bashir? I've been trying to find it online but it came up with lots of doctors with the surname Bashir :(
Do u mind giving me the right contact? I've heard terrible stories about peeling that went terribly wrong and I am a bit scared, I am happy that I've found your review here :)

No worries, Yeah that's him! http://www.thelondonclinic.co.uk/consultants/dr-saqib-bashir
I had him through BMI Healthcare though. I wouldn't worry, I was warned too but that's why I decided to go private and not to one of those 'specialist clinics'
Glad its helping people :) x

Thank you so much!
I have only one more question: how long does it take for you to be able to get out of the house again without "getting some looks" as you mentioned before.
I just wonder if a week's holiday would do the trick.
Many thanks over and over
Can't wait to see your final results :))

I waited until it had all peeled off after about 7 days as I felt really dirty, I was smothered in Vaseline too, so not a good look! X

Day 7
Last bits to peel off - I didn't leave the house all week, you can see why! I'd get some looks in my direction I think!

Did they have you put Aquapore on your face? It helped when I had mine done in 2012. Kept it moist, but let it peel. Only wore moisturizer and sealed with loose powder for about 6 years. Didn't need foundation.
