WORTH IT
Had panniculectomy yesterday...no abdominoplasty. Will most likely have umbilicoplasty later but soooo happy with my results. 6lbs of skin removed. I feel amaaaazing... my surgeon and her staff... phenomenal! Less than 48 hours...really sore but no bruising and swelling not bad at all. I can see all the hard work I did in the gym

OMG you look AMAZING!!! Thank you for sharing your experience and your pics!  Are you under any certain restrictions (no driving, lifting, etc.)? How long is your expected healing process? I hope you can continue to update your progress as it continues! Just FYI, you can post via the RealSelf app if you have an iphone - just download it here and post away!

Why you didn't get the full tummy tuck
User Avatar
June 12, 2016
Didn't feel it was necessary

What's the difference?

A panniculectomy only removes excess skin below the navel. A tummy tuck is above and below navel and they tighten and repair muscle
June 14, 2016
Oh ok. I'm trying to decide. Did your doctor suggest a full tummy tuck?

No only if I was worried about my belly button being low I didn't need muscle repair so 2 more weeks before I can resume ab workouts

You should be proud. Keep up the great work.

I just had sutures out today... surgeon still amazed at my results but I stayed in the gym and hit my weight loss goal prior to looking into surgery and maintained weight over a year. Best decision ever. Only thing i don't like is how low my navel is but it's worth the result.. I'll post pics of my scar next week...fading nicely

Back to work today. Still have staples so a bit sore and a little tired. I keep trying to wash under my.fat roll but it's gone LOL! I feel amazing and loving my results with NO tummy tuck or muscle repair. Surgeon did awesome and I am so glad I stayed faithful to my workouts. Some of the before n after photos had me a bit paranoid. Kept my navel it's just lower but my stomach is pretty flat. 2 years post Gastric Sleeve...ab workouts 6 days a week...I worked hard! These photos are last night. I can sleep in bed but not flat...still wear compression bandage to bed
