I had Coolsculpting done on my arms on July 14, 2016. The technician at The Waldorf Center didn't place the protective gel pad properly on my left arm. At 40 minutes into the procedure, the pad had sucked into the cup and my skin outside the cup began to feel like it was burning. They shut the machine off to fix the pad, but then it wouldn't turn back on. So, I had only 40 minutes done on my left arm and the full 60 on my right. She didn't apologize or even seem to care that because of her ineptitude I will likely end up with uneven arms. All she had to say was that they could redo the left arm for free if there's any asymmetry. Free? I had already paid for it and it's hardly my fault she didn't know what she was doing. Then when she took my right arm out of the cup, she barely wiped off the gel and told me to get up so she could walk me out. I know it was probably running into her lunch hour, but it was very painful and she wouldn't even give me two minutes to catch my breath before I had to go pay. She did not give me the massage that gives optimal results. I don't know if it's because she was in a hurry or if she was as ignorant about the massage as she seemed to be about placement. But it's probably a good thing I didn't get the massage so my arms might end up being closer to the same size. I don't know her name, she bother to introduce herself. But I cannot recommend this office that would let anyone this inept perform procedures. She had trouble setting up the machines, she screwed up placement of the pad, she had no knowledge of late onset pain and rudely informed me I would have no pain when I tried to ask questions, and really made me feel like I was bothering her just being there. There's too many other places around that perform this service to waste your money here for what I'm sure will be shabby results. The worst part is having to wait 8 or more weeks to see how bad it is. And then possibly having liposuction to fix it.
So as to the procedure itself.....I had read other people say they went numb after 10 minutes. I did not and it was mildly painful and uncomfortable the entire time. After the cup came off my right arm, it felt like pain just poured into my arm. Once I was outside, my boyfriend massaged it and the pain went away in about 5 minutes. I've had mild pain since then, especially at night trying to sleep. But nothing worth even taking aspirin for. Today, my right hand and arm hurts so I really hope I'm not getting that late onset pain. I'm hoping I slept on it wrong.

Im so sorry u had to go through that! I would head back in there and give them a piece of your mind. To me thats unacceptable. Speak to the owner / doctor about it. Oh btw when they remove the applicator it really hurt i almost started crying...and trust me it takes a lot of pain for me to get there! Hope you get some results at the end!!

My arms burned yesterday (day 4) and today there's no pain at all. Overall the pain was really not that bad so if I get even results I'll be very happy with the procedure and will do it again - somewhere else

Sorry to hear that you had such bad experience with the technician. I'd give them some feedback on that. Sounds unacceptable. I've personally used this office for a botox procedure and saw one of the physicians, not a technician. I forgot his name, but he was totally nice, friendly, and competent. He event talked me out of getting more botox in another area that wouldn't give me the best bang for my buck. It's all about who you deal with.

Yeah my consultation was with Madeline, their nurse, and she was very friendly and helpful. I assumed she would do the procedure. I should have asked who would do it and how much experience they had and insisted on meeting the person beforehand. But on the good side, the pain was very tolerable. I think I will try it again - somewhere else - if I get any results.

Omg you could have gotten frost bitten on that arm where the gel sheet came off. You need to get your money back from those inept people. That girl should not be doing those treatments.

Rebecca, I am sorry for your experience. This is not a normal situation and I would discuss with the physician in charge. Arms are "off label" anyway and they are uncomfortable but part of routine care on any area is to massage the treated area for 2 minutes following treatment. Protocol also states that any pop off or alarm less than 50 minutes can be restarted for the full amount of time. In your situation if they gel pad wasn't placed correctly probably better you didn't get another treatment that day. All practices have error instructions (manuals and excellent clinical support from zeltiq that they can call) so your situation has several things wrong with it. With that being said, I would discuss with the physician or practice manager in charge and have them retreat you perhaps free of charge . Best of Luck

According to coolsculpting.com website, this business is not even a CS 'certified' practice and has a 'low' rating of '1 crystal bar' = simply a provider. In researching my own situation - which i backed out of for several reasons- a call to CS Zeltiq headquarters i learned that certified practice = extensive on hands training at theur HQ facilities. Non certified = online training in simply how to operate machine. The diamond bars = to # of procedures performed. So non certified and single bar in my mind = questionable probider in CS. Thus could explain some of the ineptness you experienced. I would go back and complain and ask for refund and/or consider filing a BBB complaint. Sorry you had to deal with this!
