I just started on November 25th. Today I'm on my 2nd tray (orthodontist's plan is to try to get everything finished in 18 months, so I change my trays every week). I've had a problem with both my first and second tray not seating properly, which I heard happens quite frequently and I need to use my chewie to seat it properly. With my first tray, it took about 3 days for it to seat properly on it's own. I'll be happy once I get the buttons on my teeth so the aligners will fit better.
I haven't had any issues with cut tongues or canker sores. My issue seems to be incredibly chapped lips. I feel myself licking my lips a lot...so I've been trying to stop that and just use chapstick when my lips are dry (which is 24/7).
As you can see in my photos, I have quite the gap in my front teeth as well as a missing tooth from an accident. That space is going to be opened back up so I can get an implant put in. My lateral incisors are a bit on the small side, so the plan with them is to create a space to get them worked up to look like a normal size incisor. After that it's just closing the front gap and fixing my 80% overbite. I go in Jan 12th to get my buttons and elastics. I'm not too thrilled at the idea of elastics, but it's something I just need to get over. In the end, it's all about the end result, and in my experience, people don't care if you have braces or not.

Weird

This whole not seating correctly thing is bugging me. I know my teeth aren't going to completely track right away in the new aligner, but chewing on the chewie is hurting my jaw a bit. I can get it to seat by biting down, but as soon as I let go, it "pops" back out. It's just....weird.

I had this as well. So far tray 2, 5 did not fit at all and I had to skip them.

Tray 3

Tray 3 fits very snug. I can say that I feel it a lot more this week than I did the past 2 weeks. 4 more trays until I get my attachments and elastics. I'm honestly not looking forward to the elastics, but I'll get over it.
Problems I'm dealing with right now are just really dry lips/throat. I have a cold right now, so my throat being dry is just worse due to the cold. I've been coughing as well, so the underside of my tongue is pretty sensitive from rubbing up on the bottom tray edge.

Hi, you sound like you are doing really well. Just one step at a time. I have a dry throat as well. My ortho lets me drink warm (not hot) tea through a straw and I find this helps the back of my throat - I wonder whether yours would advise that. Keep posting! x

I am a few days from my 4th tray, I have learn to drink tons of water to help with the dry month and lips. Crazy how putting plastic in your mouth suddenly makes you stop breathing through your nose lol. I have purchased several lip balms since I have started and have found that the Eco (I think that what is called, the little egg looking kind) works the best for me. I also have a large gap so I look forward to following your progress. I have 35 trays (16 months) with 8 attachments which I had put on 2 weeks ago. Embrace the not fitting well trays, when they go from not fitting to popping in easily after a few days....lets me know that even though the changes are not always noticeable my teeth are moving!!!
Thanks for sharing your review. It sounds like you're adjusting really well to the treatment. I hope you'll keep us updated on your progress, and let us know if you need any support.
