I should have trusted my gut. I found Gowda's demeanor cavalier about impending surgery. He botched the job, my side two months later looks worse then it ever did and now I'm in discomfort. Can't exercise or even lay on that side of my body. His office never called after surgery to see how I was feeling. Follow up appointment with Gowda was his nose in a paper, never addressing my issues or offering furthur instructions. Terrible experience all around.

My husband has suffered from excruciating painful fatty lipomas around his torso. They began after he incurred trauma while working on a ship while serving in the Navy. After exhausting The Mayo Clinic, The Shepherd Spinal Clinic, and a host of other very reputable physicians & hospitals, he read about a rare disease called Dercum's Disease that described every symptom he suffered. He discovered that Dr. Karen Herbst at the University of AZ in Tuscon is doing diagnosis and treatments for Dercum's Disease. Sadly, there is no cure. NORD is also doing research into Dercum's and you can find more on their website. Finally, FB has a Dercum's suffers' page that helps in that it gives people with this heinous condition a forum to communicate with others who understand their pain and share insights. Best wishes to you!

Yes! I had a car t-bone me! Had never seen these things was in a lot of pain ! Now every day since it happened seems to get worse, I noticed on my hip side that was impacted. Now I have these knots in both legs awaiting neck n head CT scan results . As it is hurting really bad all the time. I find it odd that most people have had trauma.

I was t-boned in APRIL
Started having debilitating pain in my neck, legs and back.
It was a 40 mph hit. Thank goodness I survived it almost my pain has been debilitating. I now have lipomas, I never had until this accident.
There has to be some sort of relation to these things and trauma! Too many people have said, they occurred after trauma. Puzzle

Thank you for posting: I was violently rear-ended too, May 2017, and have developed painful lipomas and now identified with Dercum's. Yes, there IS a relationship between blunt force trauma and Dercum's.
