DHI Delhi Review / Direct Hair Implantation Review

Hello, I have to say that my DHI beard hair transplant experience has really crippled my life physically, mentally, and psychologically and my face has been damaged very badly.
I choose DHI for full beard transplantation because I was convinced by their videos showing before and after pictures of the results. I also choose them because I read online ( in at least 2 places) that their technique is an enhanced version. I also chose them because their prices were not cheap so just to make sure they are authentic enough. I would tell you more about this later in this post.
I went for 3100 GRAFTS. Not hairs. Don’t be confused about that part. The surgery was done in 2 consecutive days. Half-Half, One cheek/day. Hospitality-wise the clinic was good but it doesn’t matter because I didn’t pay them for that. I went there with the expectation that I will get natural results as they bluff online. Dr. Ajay Dubey drew the lines on my face very insincerely and quickly as compared to what is done in their marketing videos. In those videos, the doctor marks slowly and with precision. This is a work of art! but I didn’t question at that time, because I thought Dr. Ajay Dubey might be experienced enough on a daily basis. According to what they told, Dr. Ajay Dubey is one of the senior doctors of their VIP clinic in New Delhi. My face and donor area are damaged badly. The beard line looks sharp and unnatural even though I had a word with him to keep as natural as possible. I told him, I don’t want any definite style. One graft on the head has 2-4 hairs naturally. But nature makes beard hairs to be all single. So those grafts which were extracted from my donor area should be dissected into singular units and then planted to make it natural looking. But the lazy doctor didn’t care about the art. He just pulled out my hairs from the donor and the pushed into my face.
95% of the beard hairs are growing perpendicularly (90°straight outwards to my face). My social life is destroyed and I keep on researching for the solutions to fix my face. The COVID turned out to be a blessing for me because it isolated everyone so I don’t have to create difficult excuses for not meeting my family and friends. The surgery was very aggressive. The surgeon didn’t take care of my pain. He only used to stop and give me the next anesthesia the only when I am at the top of my screaming level…The way he was punching out my grafts was definitely not polite. There was no coming back at that point even though I was realizing, something wrong is happening with me. Not to mention, DHI advertises heavily that their process is Painless and 100% Natural.
POST SURGERY: My donor area was covered and the beard area was left open. No antiseptic spray was applied to the donor or face. Few painkillers and basic ointment were provided. Thanks for that.
1 MONTH OBSERVATION: To be brutally honest, after one month only, I started complaining to my doctor that hairs are growing perpendicularly. But he laughed and said it’s only one month, actual results will come after 1 year. Don’t be fooled by such answers. The angle of your graft that looks at the day of your surgery is the final angle. The angle may also increase by 15-30 degrees when the skin heals. So the surgeon is expected to insert the angles at extremely acute angles possible. That’s the raw truth. You can read this research paper here- https://www.longdom.org/open-access/facial-hair-restoration-effective-techniques-for-beard-and-eyebrow-restoration-2167-0951-1000140.pdf
But I still trusted my doctor back then and I patiently waited…
10 Months: Yes, the density has increased as compared to a 1-month result. But the grafts are planted at poor angles. They are also multiple hairs from single grafts.
DHI VS FUE:
First of all, if you don’t know ISHRS is a leading authority on hair loss treatment and restoration. Most doctors crave to be members of this community. Its full form is The International Society of Hair RestorationSurgery (ISHRS). According to ISHRS, there are only 2 hair transplant techniques. FUE and FUT. There is no such thing as DHI. Direct hair transplantation (DHI) is the brand name of a company that is strategically chosen to look like it’s a technique/method. I would rather say this is the degraded version of FUE. ISHRS openly says that there are such companies in the market and you should avoid being caught like a fish. ISHRS also declares that there is no such technique as DHI. You can check the article here - https://ishrs.org/2019/07/07/why-fue-is-so-confusing/
I’m sorry but this is an honest review to help people to avoid botched results!!
