33 Year Old with a Crooked Nose and Deviated Septum. - Beachwood, OH

I WISH I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS SOONER. Genetically I have a bigger nose, but what didn’t help was getting hit in the face with a softball! My nose was so crooked and I always wanted to get it fixed. I finally made an appointment with Dr. Goldman and the rest is history. I am 7 weeks out of surgery and very happy with the results. Dr. Goldman is a very kind, compassionate and very well educated plastic surgeon. I was a nervous wreck to have this procedure done, but Dr. Goldman and his staff have a way of making you feel way more at ease. After I saw Dr. Goldman it took me a year to finally make an appointment for my Rhinoplasty. I was just really nervous about the outcome and this is my face we are talking about! I finally made the appointment and was scheduled for surgery. The day of surgery I was very anxious, but all of his staff were very understanding and comforting. I was a huge baby, so sorry Dr. Goldman and your staff. Everything went really well and the next thing I know I was on the operating table, listening to some fine afternoon rap and fast asleep. I woke up and didn’t even know I had fallen asleep. I honestly didn’t even feel bad at first. I did drink too much out of surgery and got sick in the recovery room, embarrassing! My mom took me home and I still felt good. I ate oatmeal and watched TV with my head propped up for most of the night. I was probably about 10-11 at night when I started to feel the pain. I was already bruised around my eyes, but it did not even look that bad. Dr. Goldman called me that night to check on me. I didn’t sleep much. The next day I was a little more swollen, but still feeling ok. Around noon the first day my cheeks and upper lip was so swollen. I started to get concerned about the upper lip; it was stretched to the max and was painful. When the nurse called from the office I told her about it. She wanted me to send some pics to Dr. Goldman I did and he told me it was normal because of the work he did. The next day the swelling went lower in my face and I sent Dr. Goldman more pictures and he reassured me that it was all normal. Every day the swelling went lower and lower on my face. I had the procedure done on a Thursday and by Tuesday most of the swelling was gone. On Wednesday I went back to the office to have the cast removed. Holy smoke was I mortified. I looked like Ms. Piggy. I was reassured the swelling would go down. I was very worried that I was permanently going to look like a pig, but I was back to work the next day. 3 weeks later I went to my first check up with Dr. Goldman. At that time I was happier, but still worried about my piggish look. Dr. Goldman told me the swelling would go down and he showed me some massaging techniques. I was told to do them twice a day and I still try to do that. I could do it more, but I find it hard to remember. For me once the cast came off it was mentally hard for me to see myself. Now at seven weeks out I have a smaller, much straighter, less piggish nose. My mom is still so impressed with the results. I am so very lucky to have an amazing doctor and the results I have. I WISH I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS SOONER.
