Many years ago, when I was a young teen going through puberty, I hoped I'd develop nicely sized breasts. Instead, I never grew larger than a small and mostly flat A cup. During my thirties I had two healthy and beautiful children, and I breastfed them for a year each. Now that I am in my early forties I decided that it was time to finally realize my dream of having breasts with a cup size and a shape that is proportional to my 5' 10" and 136 pound frame. I feel that this is a personal and private decision so I researched plastic surgeons on my own. Dr. Goldman's website provided me all the information I needed to feel comfortable to make that first phone call to his office staff. They were warm, welcoming, informative and accommodating. I paid $75 to confirm an initial consultation with Dr. Goldman which was then credited towards my procedure. After our initial consultation I waited three months and then scheduled a follow-up appointment to review the optimal implant size with Dr. Goldman again, just to be sure. I had surgery a few weeks after that. I was very fearful of undergoing elective surgery for the first time. Dr. Goldman's staff did everything they could to answer all of my questions and realistically prepare me for what to expect in recovery and in the days that were to follow my breast augmentation. I must say, it was as painful as I feared it would be, but the worst of it was over the first 3.5 days or so. The hardest part was trying to lie down to sleep; I really couldn't; I slept sitting up and propped against pillows. I stayed home from work for three days but on the fourth day I was off all pain medication and was driving again. By Monday I went to work with no issues at all.
Thanks so much for sharing your story. Yours is a very common one that I know many women will relate to. Do you know the size/type implant you chose? Do you have any advice for someone considering a BA after children?
