I've wanted to have a breast augmentation for as long as I can remember. Finally, this year I decided to do it! I asked my big in my sorority where she got hers done because they are perfect, and she told me Dr. Salzhauer. I scheduled my consult immediately, fell in love with Dr. Miami and his staff, and picked a date for my surgery that day. Before my surgery my breasts were practically non-existent and weird looking to me. I didn't want huge boobs, but I wanted to look feminine. I am so happy with my results, I am now a 32D/34C. I am so happy with my decision and don't have a single regret. My new boobs have changed my life, and I couldn't be happier! Thank you Dr. Miami!!

Welcome to the community and thanks so much for offering your opinion of your doctor.

It would be great if you could give us a little more detail about your experience, like why you had the surgery, your tips for getting good results, pros/cons, and info on the recovery process.

Our community members especially love seeing photos from before, during, and after — a realistic look at what they can expect. Photos grab the attention of the community and encourage more support for you.

As a community manager, I get requests all the time from other members who want me to to keep encouraging people to share their experiences, which are so helpful for others considering these procedures. So please accept this as a well-intentioned request from thousands.

Pro's and con's

tbaldoni
The pro's to this surgery for me are that I finally feel like a woman. I am a short, petite female, and before my surgery I felt like I looked like a 12 year old boy. I already had really great self-confidence, but having boobs now makes me even more confident. Another pro is that I finally fill out all my clothes and I just feel so good when I look in the mirror and see my new curves! The only con's to this surgery was the recovery process and the limited activities I can do during the first year of recovery. I had an incredibly painful recovery, it was so bad I couldn't do anything for the first week. I never imagined that I could be in so much pain. On top of the pain the swelling from your breasts slowly moves out and into the rest of your body, and anywhere the swelling is it becomes so sore. I started to feel normal again after 5 weeks, and was able to go back to doing almost everything I was doing before my surgery. Although the pain sucked, it was so beyond worth it, and I would do it again if I had to. Also, everyone's body heals differently, so just because I was in severe pain, doesn't mean that another person would be. A friend of mine recently had hers done and is in hardly any pain at all! One thing I am a little sad about is that I am a college cheerleader and going into my junior year, and I will not be able to cheer this year because any kind of trauma that occurs in the first year of healing can cause a capsular contracture (this means that the breast would go hard and I would have to have surgery to fix it), and for me it's just not worth the risk. I am so happy with my results, I don't want anything to mess them up!

Thank you for sharing all the helpful details of your surgery. Glad your surgery went well and that you're happy with your results. It's great that you were able to get a referral from your sorority sister. Do many of your friends have implants? Did you have some help with your recovery? Congratulations and feel free to share any pictures you're comfortable posting!

Thank you! Not too many of my friends do, only about three do. My mom took care of me after surgery and my brother and dad helped as well!(:

That's nice your family could help you during your recovery...and that you know a few friends with implants!
