miraDry Changed my Life

High stress and anxiety cause my underarms to sweat profusely. It’s one of my biggest insecurities and I found myself looking for a more permanent alternative other than prescription antiperspirant. After doing some research, I came across a procedure called Miradry offered at Weiler Plastic Surgery. I called and made an appointment in the Hammond location. The receptionist, Shannon, made me feel comfortable by answering some questions I had about the procedure. She assured me that Dr. Weiler’s aesthetician, Connie, would take good care of me and that she did. After a phone consultation ( I live in Mississippi) with Connie, my procedure was scheduled for the following week. I was advised to shave my underarms and wear a comfortable tank top for the treatment. I was so nervous driving to my appointment, but once I arrived I was put at ease. Connie prepped my underarms while explaining what was to come next and went over post treatment instructions. The nurse numbed my underarms with some injections that felt like ant bites. I was a little sensitive, but it was quick and over before I knew it. Then the Miradry treatment began. Because of the injections, I could not feel anything. Which was nice because I was able to relax for the rest of the treatment. In total I was at the office for about an hour and fifteen minutes. I was advised to ice my underarms to help reduce the swelling. Full disclosure: my underarms looked like they went 12 rounds with Muhammad Ali, but looked better after once the bruising & swelling went down. Just plan on wearing a tee shirt for a week. The best thing is, I haven’t needed to wear antiperspirant since the treatment. No more staining my clothes and bras. No more embarrassing circles on my shirt. I’m so thankful for Miradry. It has changed my life.
