At 46 and working in the Corporate Industry, I started to really feel depressed due to my loose skin on my neck. I couldn't stand looking or being in pictures anymore. I was really feeling that my face was showing the rough times I have been through in my life. I had lost over 100lbs and wanted a Tummy Tuck more than anything in the world but just knowing that everyday I went to work, people were looking at my face and neck and that the tummy tuck was really just for me to get rid of all the loose skin and feel better in my clothes but that is something only my husband and I see but my neck on the other hand was a different story. I promised my husband that I would not mention a tummy tuck ever again, if I could get my neck fixed. And that was a deal he made with me so I scheduled to consult and then scheduled the date. If I had to do it all over again, I would do it in a heart beat. I am only 6 days post op and am already completely pleased with the work my surgeon done.

Neck only?

Neck and lower facelift. Sorry, I was not trying to deceive anyone but when writing the initial review, it only let you choose one option.

You look amazing! I have about the same amount of face and neck droop as your before pictures. Your after photos have convinced me to go ahead and do it. I hope I get the same results. Get that tummy tuck, if you have to pay for it yourself!

Thank you so much and good luck on your procedure if you decide to have it. Keep me posted how it goes!

Feeling great
Today is day 7 post op. I had been sleeping in the recliner since my surgery which kept my head propped up and face up, but last night decided I would sleep in my bed. That was a bad idea. The day after my surgery, I had to go back in so they could remove the bandages and clean me up a little. I was then placed in a neck/face looking sling that I would have to wear for 3 days, 24 hours a day and then after those 3 days, I just wear it at bedtime for the next 3 months. So this morning I wasn't to alarmed to see the wavy lumps on the side of my face because after wearing the face sling for the 3 days and took it off, I had wavy lumps on both sides of my face that quickly went down the first day that I didn't have to wear the sling all day along with keeping my ice wrap on for one hour and off for two. Any way, since I laid flat in my bed last night with that sling, I woke up very swollen on the right side of my face and some strange looking indentions. I knew the indentions were just caused from my hair, the sling and laying on that side on my pillow with the swelling. I got up and took some advil, two benadryl, applied my ice pack wrap and the indentions started going down and the swelling was smooth again. I guess I will be back in the recliner again tonight. I go back to Dr. Weiler's office today to have some of the sutures removed. Besides the incident this morning, everything is going great. I was reading a review of a lady that had the same procedure and she was saying that her dr kept a gel tape over her incisions and that was basically to help the incisions heal nice and flat and very light so that you can hardly even see them. I went yesterday to Walmart and bought the Mederma gel and started using it on my incisions yesterday because I want my incisions to look good or as invisible as possible. I didn't see the gel tape she was talking about but I figured the Mederma would be just as good. That is what it says it is used for. I will add new photos in a day or two after some of my sutures are removed.

What was that, the neck and lower face lift or the tummy tuck? My husband kept telling me that I didn't need the surgery and I was beautiful and there was nothing wrong with my neck but now when I put the before and after picture together he was like OMG! He said he never even seen my neck looking like that!! I have a very happy husband too but he is so great and is just like as long as I am happy then he is happy!!

I'm up for a necklift this month. But, my doctor won't be having me wear a sling. I wonder why some do and others don't. Anyone know?

I am not sure why. I think any after garment that is given after any procedure is basically to help with the swelling and even though the surgeon sculptures and puts the incisions, it used as a garment to train the new revisions. Some PS say that it is also more comfortable to wear it for a period after to keep the surgical area secured.

Got the sutures in the front of my ears and under my chin taken out today! Still really swollen but I had absolutely no bruising at all! Healing great and feeling great! Those incisions are going to be amazing after they completely heal! You can already barely see the incisions in front of my ears now so I have no doubt that they will be hardly noticeable at all when my healing process in over. I have an appointment to go back I. Two weeks to take the remaining sutures behind my ears out! I will keep you all posted!

How wonderful to wake up from surgery in your TWENTIES again!!! You look amazing!!! I want to have this done. I was always petite in my twenties but gained weight in my thirties, lost eighty pounds in my forties, and was so distressed to see my neck loose and deflated. I'm so encouraged by your story and the stories of others. Thanks for posting!

I was so depressed about my neck as well and would recommend it to everyone but research your plastic surgeons because even though I have great results , I have ready some horror stories on here and I probably would have been terrified to go through with it if I had read those stories before having it done! Good luck to you if you choose to have it done and Thank you for your feedback! Happy New Year!!

I don't see any bruising on your neck. Most other people I've seen on this site had extensive bruising

I am so sorry this happened to you. I had a facelift, neck lift and lower bleph in mid-January, 2018. My doctor is very reputable. He did my tummy tuck in 2017, and it is perfect, no complications. The facelift was different. I have very thin and sensitive skin on my face. Some SMAS stitches rose to the surface. One had to be removed which left a mark that looked like a small dark spot. The other was not removed because it was clear I was going to need a revision surgery in the future. One cord in my neck started to slowly emerge. I'd say that was about 9 months after the surgery. My doctor said he'd never seen this before with one of his patients, and I'm sure he was being truthful. The scars in front of my ears slowly grew wider and my skin sagged. I looked as though I had been burned as the skin was white, really white. I had to wear my hair in front of my ears to make sure no one would notice. They were about 1/2 inch wide and looked terrible. The SMAS stitch that remained on my right side looked like a tiny greenish pimple. That also was covered with my hair. I was beyond disappointed.
However, my surgeon said he would do a revision with local anesthesia, so there was no charge for the surgery which was again done in his operating suite in his office. The revision was done in early October, 2019, so I am about a month out. I am healing well so far. I am hoping and praying that this time it will actually last! As I understand it, surgeons are supposed to offer one revision and only charge if an anesthesiologist needs to be brought in. No one wants a revision. Your initial results were stunning, and I get why this is terribly difficult for you. Laser is not the answer. You need a revision surgery, as did I.
I am writing this because you are not alone in dealing with this. It strikes to the heart of a lot of things. I was horribly bruised after my first surgery. It took 6 weeks before I could appear in public. This time, it was a month, but it was less extensive surgery. I am still swollen, but not badly. I think the swelling takes about 3 months to resolve and a fuller face, of course, makes us appeal younger. How long will this revision last? I hope at least 5-7 years, but we'll see. Best of luck to you, and I hope you are able to have a revision as it is clearly needed. With or without it, you are still a very beautiful woman!
