Permanent mesh?
$6,000
Has anyone had this done and have you had it done with the same incision as a mini? I was told I needed a full mesh because of my weak fascia but that he'd use the same same scar line and not do a full. Is pulling in with a mesh going to add even more loose skin? Do I need a full with a mesh? When I stand there is no lose skin but when I sit, there is above my belly button.

Update since Doctor almost 1 year follow up
I was told that my fascia is too weak due to most probably pregnancy and genetics and that I'll need a full permanent mesh sutures to my muscles. He'll also use the same mini scar line. Has anyone had this? Is it worth it and does it come undone? I'm worried that my skin will still be loose above the belly button even after he redoes the surgery. He says while standing that my skin it too tight. Does it make you feel like something is there all the time? I'm worried about having a foreign object in my body. Rates of infection?

I had a modified mini with lipo a month ago and I have loose skin in my upper abs. I'm worried I need a full TT revision as well. Do you think you'll go ahead with the mesh sutures? Hopefully he isn't charging you?

He says he'll charge me for the anesthesia and cost of room. I'm thinking that's going to be half of the cost of the surgery but am calling today to see the charge. I still think I need a full TT but am worried about putting a permanent mesh in my stomach. It'll cover the entire area. He's telling me now he'll just lift up what I have now and then out a mesh. I'll still have the loose skin above the belly when sitting or bending over though if that's the case. Do you need a mesh too? I think I need a second opinion.

I would get a second opinion from a different plastic surgeon and if you get the same answer as your current ps move forward with procedure. I didn't know they used mesh for a tt, interesting

Yeah me either! The complications that could happen seem to make me decide not to have it if that's my only choice. No way...my body could reject it or I'll get some huge infection! It could come loose! I've read this in some feeds on here! It's beyond frightening! My PS said it was going to be fine and I'm one of the rare pts that he's seen that have weak fascia. I hope that's not the case and hat the absorbable sutures just didn't work.

Yeah, I'm scheduled for an appointment on March 17th. I had to change it whenever they had me scheduled with the PA. Not sure what will happen but I'm thinking they're going to tell me how good I look! Lol

You need some serious muscle repair if your belly keeps protruding. You aren't roley and the extra skin when bending is fine but honestly your belly should not look pregnant. Get the full tuck if you can and then they can do muscle repair and make you have a brand new belly button. Something just isn't right. I have only seen one person on this site who has had a good result with a mini So you are not alone

Thanks ladies for the support! I was wondering if any of you can post recent pics up close of your belly button? My neighbor also had a full tummy tuck but doesn't wear bikinis still because you can see her pink scar on her new belly button. It's pretty noticeable. I'm worried going through all this again and then having that. I was also wondering if all of you had permanent sutures verses dissolvable. I don't know which ones I had but will ask on my appt for March 22nd. Did any other you have your obliques repaired also? I think that would help my situation.

My doctor used two layers of sutures to tighten my muscles. I also had waist liposuction. I believe mine were dissolvable. As for scars, my doctor includes three microneedling procedures to help with scars. He also included scar gel for me too. Check with your surgeon to see what he offers along with surgery.

Hi. I would see a different bd certified ps. I had a mini with mr and not overly happy but flat I wish I had a full as well. Don't know why ps recommends minis.
