After having weight loss surgery I lost 120lbs, now combine that with having two kids. I was left with a lot of excess skin on my body and as you can imagine greatly deflated breast size. The breast augmentation is my first step in helping restore some of the good parts of my body I lost. I will be having a tummy tuck next fall to remove the excess stomach skin so be on the look out for that post later. I was feeling apprehensive and honestly pretty vain about having this surgery because of the stigma that had long been attached to breast aug. After consulting with my husband and family I decided it was the right choice for me and I needed it to help with my body image issues. I went back and forth on choosing a size MANY times. I wanted them to look like great boobs but not like Dolly Parton! LOL. After three visits with my plasti surgeons office I finally decided on the silicone 560cc high profile. I was still unsure of my decision because I couldn’t get past the “big number” so I went twice more to try them on and be sure. My problem was I absolutely loved the 520cc but multiple staff at the office said whatever you love, go a size bigger. This is because once it’s under the muscle and tissue you will lose about 10-20cc appearance wise. So I trusted them and went for the 560cc. My surgery was yesterday so I am still wrapped up and they are sitting very high on my best and swollen, all of which the staff said was normal and they with find their resting place in 6-8 weeks. My surgery was outpatient and took about 3.5 hours from the time I checked in to when I left. Pain... Honestly, I felt like I got punch in the chest by Mike Tyson for the first 6 hours post-op. But I’m using the prescriptions they gave me and keeping frozen peas on them. You absolutely need to ice them after surgery as the swelling is intense and the ice/frozen peas helps a ton! Doing things that uses any part of your chest muscles hurts, like opening a jar, lifting your arms to grab something so be sure to take it easy and ask for help! I will continue to update as my post-op continues so stay tuned!
