WORTH IT
I'm 69 years old and my breasts have always been large I have the shoulder indents to prove it. I was approved by OHIP for this operation. . I had my operation June 16 and so far so good. This site has helped me a lot. I had great care in the hospital. My Dr booked me in for one nights stay just in case he felt I needed it and I did. I remember waking up in the recovery room in tremendous pain. He wanted to make sure pain was managed before I left the hospital. Once I had more pain killers I slept. As much as I wanted to do this I was close to cancelling a few times. Was afraid of the pain and the outcome. But I'm quite pleased so far. I haven't seen them yet as they are bandaged and I have a stretchy bra on I bought at the Drs office. No real pain just a tight feeling. I keep looking down because I haven't seen my midriff in years and there is this huge space between my new sized breasts and my waist. I'm just astounded. I'm taking it easy watching movies and sleeping a lot and sitting on my deck so alls good. Will write more later. I took pictures the night before my operation and will take more as time goes by.

It all feels very tight and uncomfortable. Like a vice. I have taken pain killers but man it's uncomfortable

In the end it should be less pain than you would have cumulatively from your back. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Hang in there. I am 10 days post-op and I almost feel like my old self again, but with markedly smaller breasts. I felt a lot of tightness, too, but it's really starting to subside. I felt like I turned a corner at day 8. I hope you do too - or sooner! Best wishes!

Congrats on going through the surgery! I hear you on the discomfort. Mine has turned from pain to mostly tingling and itching and sort of a pressure feeling. Happy healing!

Nurse came this morning and took out the drains so much more comfortable now. But they sure look small. She is coming back on Wednesday to change the dressings so I will get to see them for the first time then. They look small but anything would compared to what I used to have. So far I'm very pleased. Taking my pain killers and antibiotics so am able to rest and relax.

Congrats on your bravery. I have a question. I see you still have quite a lot of breast. Did they give you a choice on that. I would like mine practically off, wondering if they do that?

Believe me mine are small now. I asked PS what size I would be and he said a C -D cup which is fine. I couldn't see my midriff before. So I'm pleased with the size. But everyone is different. Just talk to your dr

Had breast reduction on the 16 of June and today after drains were taken out by nurse at home so much more comfortable but itchy!! Especially where the tape was and is. I'm wearing the bra I bought from PS office 24/7. I will take a picture tomorrow to show you. So far very pleased with everything. Can't wait to see them.
