Barbie Trim Labiaplasty

Barbie trim removes ALL labia minora! I’ve had a lot of you ask on Facebook what it entails. You have NO LABIA MINORA. Just some skin close to around your clitoris, that’s it. It looks like a Barbie, nothing hangs or dangles. It’s all gone. My labia had bothered me since they started growing at puberty and after every delivery, I felt them grow more. So after three kids, I was in pain with wearing thongs, lace undies, tight pants, leggings, everything seemed to pinch or pull. Swimming in the ocean was guaranteed to give me a yeast infection. It was horrible. Physically and psychologically it really took a toll on me. I tried searching for doctors in Mexico for this procedure, but none I contacted had any experience with it. I searched on Facebook and found Dr. López. She is an OBGYN but also specializes in plastic surgery. She is an absolute doll! I love her! I changed from my obgyn who delivered my three kids and of over 15 years with her because I just loved her manner and the care and time she took with me and my questions. She is further away from me but well worth the drive. Our initial consult was amazing! I was a private pay patient so no hassle with insurance information, so I was barely in the waiting room...it must have been a 10-15 minute wait at the most. She is a warm and friendly person and her personality made me feel at ease. She gave me the options of labiaplasty and I opted for the Barbie trim because I didn’t want to deal with any possibility of them growing again. My consult was on a Thursday and Monday morning I was there to get rid of the meat curtains bright and early. While I waited for the dr, her office staff was always very nice and accommodating to me and sat me in a separate waiting room away from the pregnant women. They gave me my meds and I felt very relaxed after half an hour. I was on my period, so I had to use a tampon instead of my usual flex cup because there would have been NO WAY of taking that bad boy out after how well she repaired and stitched the old girl up. I had local anesthesia and she performed the surgery in her clinic as the hospitals weren’t having non covid patients. I won’t lie, the initial shots fn hurt BAD. But I have a high tolerance for pain so maybe I was being a little dramatic. She used a laser to remove the skin and I could smell the meat burning like if I was at a bbq lol. The procedure took about about 45 minutes or so, so at the tail end of her work I did feel the stitches as she sewed me up. She reassured me I was doing great and I would be home soon to rest and not to worry. She gave me time to get dressed and I was on my way. Her nurse and my husband helped me walk out and into the truck. I slept the rest of the afternoon oblivious to everything around me.

Things are looking pretty good if I do say so myself! I got to shave at last, so that’s cool...no complaints other than sex is not in the foreseeable future yet as it’s still very tender. So much for Valentine’s Day!

No labia minora?!?!? Oh no! Are there are any long term side effects of that? Is this just aesthetic or does it tighten the vaagina?

Many possible side effects. All of mine was removed and I didn’t want that at all. We have labia for a reason.

I elected to have this procedure done as my labia were long and uncomfortable, always getting pulled or pinched in certain underwear and clothing, or during sex. Along with the labiaplasty, I had perineal repair done to tears that occurred during childbirth. I delivered three big healthy girls all weighing over 8lbs and measuring over 22in long. Was there a medical need for it? Yes and no. To me personally after having suffered well over 20 years of physical and mental discomfort, yes I thought it was absolutely necessary. Not medically necessary according to my insurance. Vagina is definitely tighter and aesthetically pleasing TO ME. My husband doesn't like how it looks and didn't want me to go through with surgery. BUT, it's my body...and he nor anyone else tells me what to do with my body. Could one argue if labia are necessary? Perhaps. But ask someone who thoroughly researched their choice of doctors and who is happy with their results and was not botched. )

Yes I know you chose to have yours removed. I was just telling the person that asked, that yes there are risks to having no labia. I’m glad you are happy so far and hope that you won’t have any issues.

Hey nice results, I had mine done on the 5th. I’m just wondering how long did it take before you was able to exercise again? I’m getting so bored just laying in bed all the time. Wonderful results.

Hi there! I was up and exercising around mid week 3. I am walking/running around 4 miles a day and doing an hour of Zumba...dancing, squatting, lunges, jumping, etc. with no problems whatsoever.

Hey great results! seems very cute. I had surgery 1 month ago, I was wondering did you have any painful scars? painful to touch?
February 24, 2021
The scars from the labia don’t hurt anymore, and they’ve thinned out and I have a little bit of a ruffle to them again. Where I do have pain is in the perineal area and discomfort where she reattached the labia minora to the clitoral hood. Nothing insanely painful. Just tender after trying to have sex.

A ruffle???

I am now 10 weeks post op! I am feeling great for the exception of trying to have sex last week (again) which caused me a LOT of pain. My husband is a big guy, 6’3” 250 and well endowed. TMI but the girth was just TOO much and the skin at the perineum tore! Like I heard and felt a pop and then there was blood. I am going to the dr tomorrow for her to assess the damages. I hope she doesn’t have to sew me up again as I feel the girth issue would just continue to be a problem for us having regular sex. (He’s been suuuuper careful, but it was an accident this time)

I am so sorry to hear that! That sounds scary and uncomfortable. Let us know what your doctor said and if they are able to help with this. If you dont mind me asking-- did your doctor put any stitches around your perineum or not? I had my procedure 1 week ago, and I am worried about this happening, even though my doctor only operated on my labia minora, not the skin around my perineum.

My dr also did repair the skin at the perineum. I had extra scar tissue there from episiotomies and from tearing during birth.
