Breast reduction: Met with Mr Barabas to discuss a breast reduction (from 34HH) and immediately felt comfortable and fully able to discuss what I wanted and why. He has a very warm manner and listens carefully to what you want to achieve and gives his professional opinion and advice on different methods based on the desired outcome (for me not too small, but small enough to make the procedure worthwhile while keeping some volume). I opted for the lollipop method as there is less scarring and it gives, in my opinion, a better shape but was warned that because I was going down to a D, I may have to have a small horizontal scar. This was all discussed and confirmed again on the day of the surgery and I knew I was in safe and very capable hands. Mr Barabas spoke to me and my husband after the surgery and came to check on me the following day. He also booked me in to see him to have the dressings removed a few days later and then a further appointment to check the final results. Overall this was a great experience with a great surgeon who really cares for his patients and what they want. I am very happy with the result. I also had an old tummy tuck scar which I asked him to look at to see if he could revise it and will review that separately if this site allows. Mini tummy tuck: Highly recommended While discussing a breast reduction, I asked Mr Barabas if he would be able improve the tummy tuck scar I had been left after a TT around 10 years ago. The scar was tethered, uneven and had left podgy dog ears on the front of my hips (it had been revised by the original provider as the first surgeon did such a poor job but it was never great). That experience taught me how important it was to meet and pick your own surgeon and not just be allocated one by a company. Mr Barabas looked at the scar and advised what he could do and I knew straightaway I could have confidence in the outcome and so booked to have that done at the same time as my breast reduction. Once In theatre, it became apparent the scar needed extra work but this (pretty much a mini tummy tuck) was all done as part of the fixed cost package at the Fitzwilliam. Recovery and aftercare has been great and I would highly recommend Mr Barabas for both his work and his warm but highly professional manner.
