In November 2015 I had a tummy tuck and breast...

WORTH IT$11,000
In November 2015 I had a tummy tuck and breast augmentation in Bangkok with Medi Makeovers. My experience was really incredible. I was really nervous about going overseas as there is such a stigma attached to having procedures done outside Australia, and I had a lot of friends telling me horror stories! Though my experience was far from a horror story. I started researching in January 2015 after 2 surgeons in Melbourne and was quoted between $23,000- $27,000. I enquired with about 7 different medical tourism companies I had found on Google. Medi Makeovers were the first to reply to me and my consultant was really friendly. I didn't feel pressured with them to book anything and felt my consultant just wanted to give me as much info as I needed. Of all 7 companies I enquired with, only 4 of them replied to me - which was pretty disappointing. And of the other companies that replied, I felt they tried to 'sell' me the 'holiday' rather than focusing on the procedures I wanted. I loved how much info Medi Makeovers gave to me on what to do and what not to do - and I knew I was going to have two big procedures, so I really wanted real advice about what I would be able to do afterwards that wouldn't hinder recovering. I booked my surgery with them in June, and flew over in November. Once I had my surgery date, they took care of literally EVERYTHING for me - I didn't have to think about a thing! They gave me clear instructions on what would happen once I got to the airport in Bangkok. Once I arrived, I grabbed my bags and and soon as I walked out of the gates there was a lady waiting for me with my name on a sign. She took me to the driver and I headed to my hotel. I stayed at the Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 - literally the most beautiful hotel I've ever seen! My surgery was the next day, so it was really good to have an afternoon at the hotel so I could relax and even have a massage :) The next morning I was picked up and taken to the hospital, I couldn't drink or eat after midnight as I had blood tests and things done before my surgery. I met with my surgeon, Dr Rungkit and he was so kind and gentle. He really make you feel comfortable. He showed me a few different sized implants and let me 'try them on' for size. I went with 385cc round high profile cohesive silicone implants, though he did say I could have gone the next size up. He then talked me through the tummy tuck procedure and marked my tummy and breasts for surgery. My surgery was in the afternoon, so after I left my consultation I was shown to my ward room. It was really nice to be able to familiarise myself with where I would be waking up! I received a text from my Medi Makeovers consultant in Australia to see how I was going too. After my surgery, I stayed in the hospital for 4 nights. It was really great having all the nurses instantly available - literally you press the button and they are there! They helped me with practically everything, from getting my phone to work to helping me in my compression garments. Once Dr Rungkit said I was good to go, I went back to the hotel. I stayed in my room for the first day but by the next day I was doing short little trips around Bangkok. The people are really lovely. I went on my own, and couldn't join an Escorted Group as I couldn't get the same times off from my job. Medi Makeovers matched me up with other clients who were there at the same time and we would meet for breakfast practically every day. We also went to a few different places together, and it was nice to have other people around me who had had surgery and looked a little worse for wear too! I did plenty of shopping, Platinum mall was my favourite (I had to get another suitcase), I visited the reclining Buddha (only for a short while though as it was quite hot), I went to the place from the hangover that overlooked Bangkok - which was absolutely beautiful. I also did a lot of pampering - as i've never really spent much time on myself as I always feel guilty at home! It was so cheap! You can get an hour massage for about $10 and facials that would have been $300 back home for only $40! I had two visits with Dr Rungkit before I left, and the transfers were organised for me both times. On my last visit he removed my stitches and went through aftercare for when I get home. He gave me a few more antibiotics and some sleeping tablets for the plane. He also gave me a fit to fly certificate that I could show to the airport (and they would even give me wheelchair assistance if I needed it there!). Overall my experience was really great. I had lots of questions before I was there and after my surgery - and everything was answered for me. If you are thinking of doing this - don't hesitate! Medi Makeovers were absolutely wonderful and have really set up their service so you can just focus on your surgery. If you listen to your surgeon and the girls from MM you are sure to have an amazing time! My consultant has kept in touch with me since I've been home and I know I can ask them anything if I have a question (or in my case, forgot certain things!). All up I paid just over $10,000 for everything - my procedures, flights and hotel. I would put photos up, although my hubby doesn't like the idea of my nude selfies on the internet - though I definitely wanted to share my experience and I hope that it helps :) I will definitely be back...maybe for dental next time!

Dr Rungkit was incredible. Medi Makeovers made it really easy for me to ask him questions before I left for Bangkok, and the answers came back to me really quickly too. He has a really kind nature and can come across a little shy but it definitely feels like he really wants you to be happy. He isn't pushy, and will tell you in your consultation what will work and what won't. He did my surgery at Piyavate hospital. He was so gentle I didn't even know he had started and finished taking out my stitches! I can't fault the service I received whilst I was there and from Medi Makeovers too.

Thanks Teddiemc :) I definitely did. I would recommend using Medi Makeovers to anyone considering surgery or dental in Thailand. They really made my whole experience easy.
Great news about your surgery - i had the same experience - but i had breast lift and implants - i just returned from having surgery with Medi Makeovers and Dr Rungkit. Breast lift and implants and i am so happy. He is an amazing surgeon and the team at Medi Makeovers were fantastic. My stay at the hotel was fantastic and the hospital was amazing. It was the best thing i could have done. I now have 4 friends who are going over to have surgery and dental. My consultant kept in touch with me everyday and at any time if i had any questions it was only a phone call or email away. I followed all the rules and they gave me so much information that it was smooth sailing. Incredible time and well worth it. 5 star all the way
