Hi all, I am a petite girl previously measuring...

Hi all, I am a petite girl previously measuring 32A, 5ft 1 and roughly 40-42kgs, roughly 90 lbs. I’m now 2 weeks post surgery and I had my BA done at Bangpakok9 International Hospital in Bangkok, my surgeon was Dr Chatpong. I had 225cc in both breasts and so far can wear a 32C bra / 34B. I am so thrilled I made this decision and I have enjoyed every moment of this experience. :)

Normally I would never write anything like this but I want to relay my highly positive experience. Be warned- it’s a detailed account! :)

Despite doing extensive research into cosmetic tour companies, I opted to go direct to the hospital as I preferred to stream line the communication and keep things efficient. NB: If you’re planning on going alone I think it would be nice to go via a cosmetic tour company - that's if you feel you would like the companionship. Thankfully my husband came with me so he took care of me, though the staff were excellent and upon reflection I may have been okay alone too.

I booked my surgery with Bangpakok9 International hospital via email on the weekend of the 19th March, after a few email exchanges with the ICS Team (I think this stands for International Coordinator Services) who were very accommodating and patient answering all of my questions, I asked them about transfers, cost of procedure, how long I needed to stay to heal properly, post operative bras, the BP9 residence and it’s facilities, wifi and silly things like travel adapters etc. This is your chance to know everything and feel comfortable so my logic is no subject is too small to address.

The two most requested Dr's at this Hospital is Dr Pornthep and Dr Chatpong. I chose to go with Dr Chatpong for one main reason, after assessing both of their credentials I discovered Dr Pornthep began his career in dentistry before switching to Aesthetic Plastic Surgery where as Dr Chatpong trained specifically in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. This of course is not hugely important as both Dr's are highly qualified but this was just how I personally made my decision.

I sent my photos to Dr Chatpong (via the ICS team) briefly told him what I was hoping to achieve and roughly what size bra cup I would like to be post surgery. Okay, so I should explain that I use to be a very big girl- over 65kgs roughly 150 lbs. I lost a lot of weight and of course that meant losing all of my breast tissues and having lots of skin left over. Dr Chatpong sent me his opinion in a matter of hours, he suggested dual plane positioning and under the breast fold incision for accuracy, as for the size of the implant he recommended and a range of 225-250cc. A friend of mine had 220cc and in my opinion looks quite big, so I was slightly concerned with his recommendation. After receiving his quote, within a day or two I booked the flights.

I was somewhat eager to have my procedure done as quickly as possible so I arranged to have my operation on the next week Friday, which was the 25th of March (Good Friday). Surprisingly the hospital was accommodating and had no problem booking me in! - I was worried there would be a few months waiting list but thankfully this was not the case.

I sent a copy of my tickets to to ICS team at the hospital who arranged a couple of nights stay at BP9 residences and transfers for me. At this point I was feeling like all the other women out there who consider cosmetic surgery in Bangkok/ Thailand…. worried!! I started googling horror stories and really dived into more research about the hospital and Dr Chatpong but I couldn't discover too much except google reviews for the hospital and very little on Dr Chatpong. I’ll get to him in a minute.

Day of flight- I arrived into Bangkok International airport an hour later than scheduled due to delays, none the less I made my way to the ‘meeting point’ and was met by someone holding my name up. I was thrilled! they handed me a letter with an appointment card with details for my pre operative assessments. So far so good. He led me to a 12 seater van and we were on our way to the hospital (BP9 residence). These little details made me comfortable straight away. 45 minutes later he took my baggage and led me up to the 10th floor where I was met by staff who knew who I was and again handed me more letters and led me to my room. This level of attention to detail really made me feel like I was in good hands. :)

The BP9 resident superior room is basic and clean, it is essentially a big room in a hospital. There’s a flat screen TV a big bed and a lot of white lighting! If you want to stay in a nicer room they do offer deluxe and suite rooms, but as I was only staying 1 night a superior room will do.

The following day I was up early and met my ICS contact at 8am, her name was Naen (I have no idea how to spell it). She was lovely! she took me to all my appointments - ECG, blood test, X-ray and then of course to finally meet Dr Chatpong. He already knew what size I wanted to go too but we went over it again and also discussed the details of the surgery and what the potential risks were. I took my top and bra off for him to assess and check which method and incision would be most suitable for me, then I put on a bra and tried on the silicon implants - as soon as I tried the 225cc I decided this was the size that I wanted :) I was never after HUGE breasts, just fuller and up to a C if possible. Dr Chatpong agreed and felt 225cc would fit my breast perfectly as my breasts are quite small at only 10.5 cm wide.

I had my surgery the following day at 2:30pm (25th March 2016), I remember being wheeled into the operating theatre and seeing Dr Chatpong for a little bit before the oxygen mask was put over my face. I won’t drill into the details of how I healed but in summary I experienced discomfort in the first night but by about end of day 2 post op I had regained most of my strength back and could take myself to the toilet and do small tasks but of course no heavy lifting. The hospital room was bigger than the BP9 resident superior room, it also had a flat screen TV, couch (where my husband slept) bathroom and a mini kitchen area. The standards are very high and sanitation level was excellent! (I’m very particular about these things).

During the 2 days in hospital I was on a lot of medication, staff were on hand by a push of a button and would happily give me pain killers when I requested it. They even offered to bathe me! They were all very diligent and checked up on me every hour or so. On day 2 Dr Chatpong came to visit me to remove the drains, I was very swollen but feeling much better despite the occasional sharp pain. By the end of the second day we were discharged with lots of medication and were driven to our hotel. All arranged and organised for us :)

(I should add the hospital has a canteen down stairs as well as Starbucks and a minimart where you can buy all your essentials. Beyond on that there is nothing else in the area, the Hospital faces a big dual carriageway.)

Now that I am post 2 weeks my surgery I would like to say Dr Chatpong is a highly professional Dr, he is informative, patient, calm and realistic. More importantly he has been able to give me a new self confidence which I had long forgotten about. He never tried to over sell me anything and listened to what I wanted to achieve, at one point, after my consultation I wanted to try on bigger implants 250cc, but Dr Chatpong advised against this as the skin on my breast is thin there would be a high probability the implant may stick out to the sides too much. I’m very glad I listened to him because I feel this size is perfect for me.

Post surgery 4 days I started to feel more pain and texted my contact person from the ICS team (Naen), it was her day off but she forwarded my concerns on to the hospital and the following morning a car came to pick me up to have me personally checked by Dr Chatpong. It was a false alarm :) I was healing fine and just needed a more supportive bra :) But that’s how organised and how well they took care of me at this hospital!!

As I previously mentioned I had 225cc in both breasts, I believe most of my swelling has subsided but I am only post surgery 2 weeks so everything is still fresh. I can fit a 32c unpadded unwired bra… which is also 34B. I’m not sure what they will be in 3 months but I will keep everyone updated.

Now that I have been through this I can personally recommend Bangpakok9 International Hospital and Dr Chatpong. The service I received here and the way I was taken care of has far exceeded my expectations. I hope my experience helps someone make a more informed decision.

I understand the choices for cosmetic surgery in Thailand is over whelming… which location? which surgeon? which hospital? and the list goes on. I can only suggest do your research thoroughly and have a back up plan in case you don’t like what you experience. However if you do decide to have cosmetic surgery in Bangkok, I suggest you reach out to the ICS Team at Bangpakok 9 International Hospital, which dr you choose is up to you but I can only recommend from experience and I have only good things to say about Dr Chatpong. Who know’s maybe I will be back again :)

Good luck all!.
