Absolutely the worst decision of my life. I went to the dentist to replace composite bonding on 2 teeth and ended up being railroaded into porcelain veneers of my front four teeth. The dentist did not explain anything and my healthy normal teeth were ground down for the preparation. The mental anguish of this non reversable procedure will haunt me forever. After one day, i feel issues with the smoothness behind the tooth. I believe the veneer has already chipped at the end of the tooth. The feel terrible when I am eating. I was told not to bite into anything a plastic spoon cannot break through (basically everything except soup and white bread). Please don't follow in my footsteps!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE PROCEEDURE! Composite bonding keeps your natural teeth and their superior strength and you will have healthy teeth in the long run

The dentist was completely hopeless. Like a robot he was programmed to get a patient and get them done with veneers. He explained nothing about what would be done, nothing about the lifelong burden, and had zero ability to listen to me as a patient and understand my needs

Is the first picture the "after" picture? If it is, your new teeth look great. Our dentist is the opposite. He really listens. He may insist on a procedure if he know it's the only way to go, but overall he always wants his patients' feedback.

I had the same exact sad story, I wanted to have a smile makeover, I didn't know how bad the procedure is, and the dentist didn't explain, I didnt even like the end result my veneer looked so white and fake to me, I have suffered for months with teeth pain, I couldn't eat properly, fearing the veneers would break and all my grounded teeth would get exposed, they were also sensitive to cold, I had to make many bite corrections to be able to bite normally, however after 6 month it improved. So dont worry you will be able to eat much harder things than soup, and you will get used to them. by the way your new smile is really nice, so this should make you feel good.
Thanks,
Sally

Creating a great smile is something to be done carefully and thoughtfully, and part of that is choosing a dentist who has significant experience and a good team behind him or her.... Cosmetic dentistry isn't taught in dental schools, so a good cosmetic dentist has to get training and experience on his off time. I would always INTERVIEW the dentist before starting any treatment like this! Find someone you like and trust, it is a big decision!
