I did a blunder and this feedback is to make sure that you guys don’t repeat the mistake I did. I am writing this post after completing nearly 5 months of surgery
I am not based in India and just like other Non Resident Indian, I used this forum and other online gynaecomastia forums to zero in on a doctor.
I was in a hurry to do the surgery mainly because I was planning to visit India for just a week and I wanted to finish within that duration. The other reason being was I always wanted to do this surgery since my teenage days (I am in late 30’s now) so I thought if I don’t do this now I will never do it again.
I short listed a few doctors & Dr M S Venkatesh (or Mysore Venkatesh) was one of them. I asked for information from all of them but unfortunately Dr M S Venkatesh (or Mysore Venkatesh) was the one who promptly responded. As they say the first impression is the best impression, I proceeded to ask more details and he responded to all my queries.
I was told by him that I have a grade 2 gynaecomastia and I have to undergo liposuction and breast tissue removal. I wanted to see some pre and post op pictures of his patients and he advised me to look into his website and his you tube videos. I assumed they must be genuine and decide to proceed with the gynaecomastia surgery along with removal of fat from love handles (liposuction). His charges were around Rupees 1,00,000 and I was advised that the final cost including medicines, blood tests and vest will come to Rupees 1,20,000
The surgery got over on the agreed date and after the surgery the doctor showed me the liquid fat removed and the bits of breast gland/tissue that was removed.
To my shock only a few bits of breast tissue/gland (very small size around 1 mm) was removed whereas I had much larger breast tissue/glands. On asking the reason he said he there was a risk for crater formation if more glands were removed. He said give it a few days your breasts will become much flatter (and till date I have large breasts).
After 5 days my plaster from my chest and abdomen was removed and then came another shock. Post-surgery results showed that the sizes of my breasts were asymmetrical and I found the nipples (areola) to be disoriented (not on the same line). I asked the reason and he said please give some more time and this is due to swelling etc.
The abdomen results were even shocking. Hardly any fat was removed from the love handles and one love handle was much bigger than the other love handle. I still had large love handles and when I asked for reason he said those are muscles and not love handles (absolutely shocking!!)
The doctor was such a shameless man that even after seeing me not happy with the results he constantly kept asking me to provide good feedback on all websites and recommend him to others
Almost four months passed after surgery and I could not see any improvement in my love handles and breasts. I decided to go for a second opinion to 2 other doctors.
The new doctors confirmed that
Dr M S Venkatesh (or Mysore Venkatesh) has only removed 2 to 3% of breast tissues whereas around 90% of them were supposed to be removed. Crater formation will only happen if more than 90% of the tissues are removed.
Hardly any fat were removed from the love handles and there was a much larger scope of improvement. They rubbished Dr M S Venkatesh (or Mysore Venkatesh)’s claim that they were muscles and not love handles
In the past they have seen many such unhappy patients who were originally treated by Dr M S Venkatesh (or Mysore Venkatesh).
I have to undergo a revision surgery to correct my breasts and love handles
After spending Rupees 1,20,000 + Flight tickets and hotel stay in Bangalore, I got nothing in return. Dr M S Venkatesh (or Mysore Venkatesh) has done an absolutely pathetic and shoddy job. Plastic Surgery is not a skill alone but an art as well and not everyone has the art and skill.
Later after I did more research, I found many other feedbacks about him especially on the non removal of the breast tissue. I wish I had read them before!
